1/200 Aliens from Earth vs. the Flying Saucers
« on: June 29, 2015, 07:00:42 AM »
Back in 2013, I made a couple of 1/350 scale versions of the flying saucer from "Earth vs. the Flying Saucers" and I also made some figures to go with the saucer: http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?topic=3673.0

Atlantis recently came out with a roughly 1/200 scale (1/208 based on the drawings that they used, from "The Saucer Fleet") so I rescaled my 1/350 figures to 1/200 and had them printed at Shapeways in Frosted Extreme Detail:

They're on small stubs to make them easier to remove from the brittle plastic:

I painted half with some blue tinted aluminum color, then ran a wash over them:

I'll make them available later this week.

Very cool Frank! What did you design them on (program I mean)?
2 Reasons why a model is better than a wife:
1) A model doesn't get jealous when you look at another model
2) A model doesn't yell at you for spending money on another model

I use Rhino 3D for all my designs.
I guessed at the height (a little over 9mm) by assuming that the actors were average height. Joan Taylor was a bit short, too:
