hello again
this is probably my flag ship scratch build , i originally built it 4 or five years ago and it was one of my first scratches i made , over time i grew tired of it and figured i should re build it as the quality of the model was actually very low , so i stripped it down to the frame and began to start adding new components , i sorta hit a wall and didn't really know where i was going with the build and i shelved it for over a year while i worked on the IDF Mech posted earlier after the mech was done i sorta took a new perspective on the build. and then it was another 8 months or so before it was finished to the state it is now. i took a lot of inspiration from this one peace of art that was produced for Home world 1 but never used , also i love the Interceptor from HW1 so i had to roll in some design aspect from it as well. i used some aluminum thruster cones on the back and all over the rest of model , i used .25mm , .50mm , .75mm sheet styrene for the whole thing . as well as some bits and bobs from other models. one thing that i didn't notice until i finished the model is that taiidan ships cockpits don't have side windows, so i sorta diverted from the typical taiidan style order there  :icon_crap:.

next time i post ill show work in progress photos , Taiidantomcat saw these on gear box software forum and directed me here so if any one of you are on that forum this will seem redundant

That is some seriously nice scratch building right there! I'd love to see a WIP of this and any other future ships you make
I'd love to have a go at scratching something and I may well do that one day. Just need to find the right subject first

Ok guys sorry i have been gone so long , i have had lots of life stuff going on , my school just started and i haven't had any time to post those WIP's .

so first set of WIP's is when I built the model first time through

this photo is what it the build looked like

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This set of WIP's is when I decided to take the whole thing apart and re build it

I was actually thinking of doing a missile system on the side of the ship but i ended up using it on the IDF mech because it looked better there
the way I was able to get the holes all nice and evenly spaced was I made a template in a CAD software and printed it out , then just pasted the template over the plastic and drilled the holes with a power drill.

These WIP's are of the model you see at the top of the thread. this iteration is after I put the project down for a while and focused on other things. some features didn't quite make it into the final product , I'm not the best with WIP's as can tell

so hope that gives some one a few ideas for a future project
