To begin with, what about a Sea Fury with the Napier Sabre (incl chin radiator) of the Hawker Tempest V?

How about a visiting swap posting, one of these in USAAC markings similar to those applied to P-6E's and a P-6E in these markings?

Or a Fury with further engine developments (either a Peregrine or a Merlin) and some of the evolutionary changes the Avia B/Bk.,534 went through (adding a canopy and, if you add B.634 changes, cantilever main struts and spatted gear).

Yes, I know it's not the monoplane Fury but it is a Fury and suitable for this thread.  Now, what was the navalized version of the biplane Fury?
Title: Re: Hawker Fury and SeaFury Ideas and Inspiration

High-Speed Fury and Fury II had spats; the Yugoslav Furys had cantilevered, single leg, spring-hub
Dowty gear like the Gladiator; Persian Fury had Hornet radial.

P.V.3 was Fury based with spats, steam-cooled Goshawk and four guns.

Nimrod was the RN equivalent of the Fury and while extremely similar is actually a separate design,
Nimrod II had swept wings.

Hmm, a P.V.3 with a Peregrine and cleaned-up radiator installation?

Or, how about a Yugoslav Fury with a canopy?  Either one similar to the Hurricane or one similar to that of the Gladiator.

... probably a canopy like that of the "Fury Monoplane", part of the studies that led to the Hurricane.
Peregrine engined BTW.  ;)

For the original Fury ... mustn't forget apophenia's monoplane version:

For the "Tempest Light Fighter" Fury and its Sea Fury development, a Napier Sabre (either Tempest I or V configuration) sounds like a good idea to me.
... or put a turboprop on it ... or turn it into a jet the Yakovlev Yak-17 way  8)

If he reads this, take care man! We didn't forget you!

Thanks for asking Vuk! Alive and kicking ... albeit with all the strength of a new-born kitten  :P

I did a version of the original Jet Fury concept on Secret Projects. I'll see if I can retriev the artwork.

Australia licence produces the Seafury for the RAN FAA but with the start of the Korean war starts building Furies for the RAAF as a CAS aircraft to replace the Mustangs.  Or even better make that Furies as a CAS for Army Aviation, pending the availability of the intended Hawker Hawks.

What if the ADF decided to standardise on fighters early on with the result that the RAN FAA and RAAF ended up with a common new fighter (yeah, I know the dates don't quite work out) in the form of the Sea Fury/Fury.  This might see a Sea Fury/Fury in the following type of scheme:

 :)  Ah huh.

In my delusional mind I have air arms for the Army, Navy and Marines, as well as of course the RAAF and cross overs between them.  So Fury Seafury for the Army, RAN and possibly marines is a thought I have had.  The RAAF at this point would have been deploying Vampire, Hawk etc. though may have adopted the Fury as a ground attack type assuming they still had the role.

Didn't Marks V and VI have the same cowling? What is inside the scoop was different.

Photos I've seen of the two would show a smoother radiator housing to engine cowling on the Mk.VI. The sides of the radiator on the Mk.VI seem to go straight up rather than the 'double-bubble' look on the Mk.V.  However it could be an optical illusion -------

Hawker Sea Fury equiped with Hs293. Two different locations. Aft seat is for bomb operator. Not in constant scale however; bomb has been reduced to 75%. So a new reduced Hs293 equivalent must be developed.

With the released of the very nice new tool 1/72 KP Typhoon and Tempest kits add a dash of the Trumpeter and PM Sea Furies and the LF models Tempest MK.I conversion, you get a who new range of options.
Some of the KP kits come with both Typhoon and Tempest parts like the Matchbox II/VI kit.

For example:

And so on.

LF models Tempest MK.I conversion. From the internet,.

JAYS Models also produces the old Ventura 1/72 Tempest Mk.I conversion in injection which consists of a complete new fuselage and leading edge radiators.

I have the Jay set as well.

I like the LF set as it is just the radiators and bottom of the cowling. It can be used with any kit/fuselage,.
