Warning for Cow owners - The following images might be very upsetting, so proceed at your own risk! :)
Allow me to present "Q'Porraaah", the evil being from Alpha Centauri: >:D
(http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/zz158/AARSOBRAL/Vacas/vaca-03.jpg)
And the sweet little "Rosamund", the innocent and frightned cow: :o
(http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/zz158/AARSOBRAL/Vacas/vaca-01.jpg)
The plot thickens....
Since Alpha Centaurians are no match to outrun a cow, there must be some sort of airship involved:
Frightening sight, isnt it?
Well, let us just hope for the best .... and be prepared for the worst! :)
To be continued....
-
Hah - splendid!! ;D
I know where you got the Alien & Saucer from (Pegasus), but where is the cow from, and have you modified it at all?
-
Hey wait! I thought the cow abductors were from Zeta Reticuli. :o
Hilarious diorama idea, BTW. I'm looking forward to the finished piece. ;D
-
Another great work in the making.
-
Hi
Thanks for the comments!
This is one of those little "weekend" projects, jut for the fun of it :)
The cow is in resin, from the "Doug's originals" line on animal figures.
The only alteration I made was the necklace with the cowbell (copper cable + styrene).
Thanks for watching!

PLEASE don't put McDonalds stickers on the saucer!! PLEASE !!! :o :o :o

Nah....the baby just needs some milk ;)

For some reason I'm tempted to consider a reversal... ET finds a bull and does a Full Pamplona.
Gotta admit, it'd be a funny pair of bookends... a perfect gift for that crazy UFO-nut friend. LOL

This totally made my day, Antonio!
The expressions on their faces are priceless!

And no MacDonald's stickers. I promise :)
But now it is time for the terrain preparation:

And some painting:

The thrill is on...

No McDonald's sticker...because we all know Antonio prefers Burger King.
Nice update! I really like how you somehow captured the look of alien metal on the saucer.

Why are the aliens these days always naked? Back in the day they all wore silver suits. There must be something in between. BTW, your project looks cool. Just once seeing the bull chasing the alien would be quite a switch!

I can just see the expose', "Naked Came the Alien" or "That was No 'Little' Green Man"

Beautiful job with the alien and the cockpit!

There's that video - "Aliens gone wild" where you can see aliens expose their pseudopods and lift up their cloacal flaps.

Just paint on some silver Speedo's. That should do the trick.

I was just thinking that: it'd be like a Gary Larson cartoon..... >:D ;D

Far Side would have the alien and the cow discussing how to get back at the farmer!!
-
Hi guys
I am a big Gary Larson fan myself.
Those 2 volumes wheighing almost 20 pounds on mya bookshelf with the Complete Far Side will prove it! :)
And there is a good reason for the aliens being naked nowadays .... probably something to do with getting the cattle feel uneasy :)
Anyway, this Part 1 is now complete.

And now the 64.000 Dollars questions:
Will the alien get the cow?
Will the cow get the alien?
Will they be married in Vegas by an Elvis clone?
Only time will tell...
Donīt miss Part 2. Soon in a forum near you :)

That's a scream, Antonio! You've got a wonderful sense of humor.
The finish and overall quality is absolutely first-rate!

Brilliant job.
Though my mind is playing over those great quotes from that most brilliant of movies.... Paul.
Forget the silver speedo's.. he could perhaps be wearing the Paul style board shorts.
-
Years ago, someone did a bovine in battle armour, vaguely similar to a Warhammer 40K Space Marine. Perhaps Betsy the Cow's soon-to-appear anti-alien hero?
-
Love it! ;D ;D ;D
It's a really nice paint job too - well done! :)
-
I love how well the terrain turned out. Would be keen to see some explanations/tips.
-
Hi guys
Thanks for the comments!
I am glad you share my sense of humour. Sometimes "really professional" modellers tend to be annoyed by these little incursions
into this less noble area (according to them, I guess) of this great hobby. But hey, who gives a FFATM about them? :) :)
Sometimes I tend to be vey succint on my posts, so, here is a brief description on how the base was made:
1. A piece of roofmate slab cut to approximated desired shape
(http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/zz158/AARSOBRAL/000%20DIVERSOS/foto1.jpg)
2. The borders of the roofmate slab were "texturized" using a hot wire styrofoam cutter. Just for kicks :)
3. A thin layer of Vallejo Grey Coarse Pumice Paste was applied with a spatula and flat brush to simulate the terrain.
If you cant find this paste near you, try to mix very fine sand with some sort of acrylic gel medium or any equivalent method.
There are lots fo different methods to skin this cat....
4. Some pieces of shredded cork were randomly implanted in the still fresh terrain, to simulate stones and rocks.
Again, if no cork available, real small stones and rocks collected in your local garden will do the trick!
5. Static grass (from Noch in this case) was applied also in random patches to simulate some short vegetation.
Glued with white glue and aplied with the GrassMaster electrostatic applicator also from Noch, but you can use
the puff bottle or a small sieve from you kitchen, and save the 100 Bucks:)
6. Everything was finally brush painted with Vallejo Model Color acrylics, and a final touch with Winsor&Newton oils.
And that's pretty much it :)
-
I saw some nice figures of Texas longhorns in the store the other day. Longhorn bull would give any alien second thoughts.
-
:) Thanks for the detailed terrain creation explanation. Much appreciated. :)

:) Thanks for the detailed terrain creation explanation. Much appreciated. :)
Goes for me too. :)
-
Thanks for the peek behind the curtain, Antonio!
I know Liquitex makes gloss and matte acrylic mediums with different sizes of beads in them. It wouldn't surprise me if they made one close to the size of sand too.
I've used their acrylic mediums to clear-coat decals and models. They clean up easy with hot water and soap.
So, what wonder will you amaze us with next?
