There's a shocker ;)   I'll be keeping an eye out for the Me 263 re-issue. ( Need to get the airmodel
kit too, one of these days. ) Their announcement of getting into 1/72 scale armor is kind of exciting.

Damn! now I'm going to need the 1/48 Spitfire Mk.XII  ----  :-X

All that V-2 set needs are the fuel tankers, in the book V-2 by Dornberger (I think that was his name) it said that the V-2's were fueled up once they were on the launch table.

More like the Jaws of Life.

I really want commodity priced kits of the early unloved fighters:  P-35, P-37, P-41, P-42, P-43 etc.

That suggests an interesting whif, a V-12-powered fighter derived from the P-35 analogous to how the P-40 derived from the P-36.

It's like you can read my mind. I've been trying to figure out what to do with those left over P-40 engines.

And Mr Gimper, yes I agree whole-heartedly! A 1/72 single-engine kit going for $25 is ridiculous.

And today I saw one going for near $50. Yikes!

Some interesting additions there:

But now the most important question - IS THE 1/48 HE-115 FINALLY AVAILABLE????  It doesn't appear in their eshop yet...

Title: Re: MPM / CMK Models

<...>
  • Yet another 1/48 Viggen? or should I say two? - Edit:  Just did some research.  MPM are working with Tarangus Co. to prepare the new Viggen.  MPM will be doing the A-37 and SK--37 versions which presumably leaves Tarangus doing the fighters.
<...>

I was pretty happy to see MPM being in the boat on the 1/48 Viggen, as I hope that might get us a down-scale to 1/72 some nice day.  :icon_music:  Hey, a man can dream, can't he?  :-\

Ah, at least MPM seems to have us 1/72 guys covered with regards to a pretty decent AH-1G/Q/S!  :icon_beer: The CAD images they've posted on the web (HERE (http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=264330&view=findpost&p=2510665), for instance, with many more images in other posts) look spectacular.
Too bad for AZ Models, though. Their recently released AH-1G doesn't look half bad, but I reckon MPM's will be even nicer.

Ok, the He115 does appear in their eshop here (http://www.cmkkits.com/en/aircraft/heinkle-he-115/) - it is listed as a Special Hobby release though (obvious now, but I missed the connection at first) - it is still listed as "Comming" though,

I have it, overall a fairly nice typical Czech limited production kit.

The Hawk Trainer 3/Magister I was used as a racer for
years post-war. Unfortunately many of the surviving aircraft have
been 'restored' and painted in camouflage that some never wore
or only wore briefly. Aircraft that spent most of their lives in mufti
have been muddied up with boring cammo, all in the name of
oversimplified notions of 'history'.

For the modellers who like to work in "aficionado scale", CMK offers the F-4K / FG.1 nose undercarriage leg in taxiing and take off position. So now any Phantom can now be flow off the smaller carriers.

Hannants has it on backorder (http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/CMQ72226).

Reckon that it could be used in modeling a Jaguar M, too.

Yes. Yes. Yes

How about a F-100 or a F-107 modified for USN carrier trials?

Both are quite plausible and a navalized F-100 is close to one entry made in the competition that gave the USN the F8U while NAA-Columbus' FJ-5 proposal is a half-way step between a navalized F-100 and F-107, dorsal intake, but a plain pitot intake like the F-100 rather than a variable one and powered by a J79.

Thank you Greg. I already allocated one F-100 kit to be the F2J. And a F-107 to be a F3J. Not sure why NA decided to call the F-107 it a FJ-5. It is not the 5th version of the FJ-4. Being a whole new airframes, both the F-100 did and F-107 should used existing method of adding and incrementing the "x"in the USN FxJ taxonomy.

Holy crap, the next boxing of the Gnat F.1 is going to have Hotshots "The Navy" markings!

Quote
SH72322 Folland Gnat F Mk.I  British Single Seaters 1/72

The British Folland Gnat light jet fighter was evaluated also by the RAF, but only its two-seat trainer version known as the Gnat T.1 entered the RAF service. The flight tests of the F.1 version took rather long time during which various colour schemes were applied to the machines. The most attractive of them are presented in our superbly detailed model, which as you most probably already know is injected within steel moulds. The decal sheet brings you also markings for so-called Oscar EW-5894 Phallus fictional machine famous from an early 90´s spoof of heroic aviation movies.

The model itself comes with three sprues with plastic parts, one clear plastic sprue and contains also a couple of resin parts for various antennae and air intakes that were characteristic for pre-production and trial machines.

I love it! Although I'd probably buy another Airfix one (LOVELY wee kit!) and use The Navy decals on that.

Anyone know if the Quickboost Sea Vixen FAW.1 corrected nose for the Cyberhobby kit is also applicable to Cyberhobby's FAW.2?

I'll have to see if I can lay my hands on the FAW.2 conversion I have quickly to check (means searching all through the stash boxes) but IIRC all the difference is was the shorter fuselage between the nose and cockpit

@Story - Get it while you can!  That CMK model is a bit hard to anywhere but CMK (this link:------> CMK 129-3140 Solothurn S-18/1000 20mm AT Rifle (https://www.cmkkits.com/en/detail-sets-accessories/129-3140/)).  The Cri-El models S-18/1000 kit is as detailed but much more fragile.
