How to remove Tamiya tape glue residue

(1/1)

The Big Gimper:
I masked my Kopro canopy with Tamiya masking tape which left some glue residue.

Do you know of a safe method / formula to remove the glue but not the paint or the fog the canopy.

I've never heard of Tamiya tape leaving a residue. IF you didn't use acrylics on the canopy frame (or Future on the clear part) try dabbing with denatured alcohol or isopropyl. If that doesn't work, try either another piece of tape or some blu-tack to remove the bits.

You can use lighter fluid to remove most anykind of tape residue. It will damage paint but if you are careful you should not have any problems. I've used this since I was a fraterny pledge back in the early 1970's.   Just put it on a cloth and wipe carefully all there is to it...

Damn !!!  Either I didn't time my drugs right or my Spellchecker is off on its own ... ???   Sorry !!!
