MOAR :-* Show the Viper and Buck Rogers fighter

Showing my ignorance on paper models. Are these kits or scratch?
-
built from "kits" you print out

A little piece of art :-*
-
You know, if that Starfighter was posted to a plastic build thread, I'll bet nobody would catch on! It looks just like the old 1981 Monogram kit.
And it is one of the neatest and yet basic starships out there.

I've said it before and I will say it again...

What he said! Working in such diverse media as paper is truly impressive!

BRILLIANT !!

Congratulations! :-*
(well, the ecologist part in me used to say "killing a tree for making paper is a crime", but... well, I would authorise this, for building marvels like that... ;) )

Holy crap :o Those are awesome :-*
-
I never could get the hang of paper models, these are pretty danged cool!
-
The paper MiG-3 is very beautiful, even better than plastic/Real...
-
Impressed paper models can have such a quality look. I would be tempted to try switching to plastic landing gear.
What is your preferred glue?

Its easier than you think, and I would invite any of you to give it a try. I have a big write up on techniques for building paper models and scenery parts like control towers over on http://www.kampfgruppe144.com/phpBB3/index.php (http://www.kampfgruppe144.com/phpBB3/index.php) go to the FAQ area (am still listed as moderator there- go figure!)
If you don't mind not being a paper kit purist - who makes everything uncompromisingly from paper, and you add some wood to the model for strength such as landing gear- good catch finsrin, or plastic props and canopies, heck even metal parts where you can get em' then in fact you can get results comparable to an all-styrene or all resin model.
Half of my builds for flying wing and tailless were paper, and btw- the wings are the easiest paper parts to fabricate so a flying wing in paper ----not so hard at all. If you want to do a paper model and have best chance of a win, go for a Fiddler's Green Go-229 or a kit of a YB-49.
I have more paper (and styrene scratchbuild) model kit building technical tutorials over on my deviantArt page http://russc1.deviantart.com/ (http://russc1.deviantart.com/)
You'll find them sandwiched in the main gallery between my model build pics and lots of dragon art , but go to the left side panel and click the tutorials folder to find them all easier.
-
what russ said for buildin paper models. i use a wood glue i get from work....tightbondII. it dries quik but it WILL warp parts if you do not glue them flat on a surface.
-
Do these come with a statement telling the scale?
B-17 and Me-109 appear about 1/72.
-
they are from fiddlersgreen, they print to fit on the page , they have a funny scale system so you can print all the ones they have at the same scale, but yeah they work out to be about 1/72 scale or close to it.

There is plenty of plastic out there, a patch of it the size of Brazil in mid pacific, ready to be scooped, plus landfills full of it.
Also, there are plastics that can be made from grown renewables like corn.
But paper is a great way to build !

Yes, like a future twin-boomer. Nice :-*
-
Nice work on the Reliant!
I'm a bit of a Star Trek fan and I've always liked how different Reliant is from Enterprise.

Amazing

Amazing
Ditto on that. Finally saw/held a couple paper models. Were well built and looking fine.
-
nice work -- some of them look like plastic kits !
Think the manufacturer went a bit heavy on the panel-line pre-shading with that B-17 tho ;D
-
it was supposed to be a no paint plain aluminium skin on the b-17 but it just printed out black lines ,some blue on windows and all else white!
thanks for the looking!!
may or may not have some(one?) done in the next nine months.(fingers crossed)
