Could have actually happened too with, Israel grabbed anything they could back then.  As an aside, has anyone ever seen any photos of Israeli Beaufighters I know they existed but never seen pics?

Some I did a while ago:

Turboprop version of the Me P.1099 (which was itself a derivative of the Me-262 - it utilised the wings and tail of the Me 262).  The plan is that this is would be a carrier based bomber, somewhat similar to the North American AJ Savage:

Another idea is for this turboprop Me-262 ground attack aircraft.  Maybe as the ultimate Ju-87 replacement:

The turboprops giving longer endurance in the ground attack role with the added benefit of tail guns.  Note also the attached RATO for added boost with a large bomb load.

Maybe after a few years, the Luftwaffe wanted a fast ground attack aircraft (hence the HGIII basis), but with heavier armament (6 cannon in nose).  Maybe even the old WGr 21. rocket finds a use in the ground attack role?  Whatever, the reason, this is the result:

What if the jets never quite made it - could the Me-262 have been put into service with piston engines?

Another variation on the theme - what if the gas turbines still weren't quite there and the Luftwaffe went the route the Italians and Russians (and probably a few others as well) tried, that of thermojets:

That one has occurred to me, too; including an AEW version with the rotary radar dome of the AR-234P on the upper fuselage.

Taken at Weimar Germany 12 May 45. American soldiers inspect Me 262 A-2a/U2 (W.Nr. 110 555)

(https://scontent.fxds1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/31945024_1748743825181884_9099334772915699712_o.jpg?_nc_cat=0&_nc_eui2=v1%3AAeEJivbuKdRIVGdpQ3TMsIt8Xjfr9N7vKdnOcAUoZ5NSkGIaIO397X90BEAM49q6kTGjrEMVcfjNrdWsdPgD41lyuIZ3-ONWu_L-DEF_wkwKtQ&oh=829c66addabfbba39d47a791a4cf9fea&oe=5B8E76DE)

The bomber second prototype (W.Nr. 110 555) was completed in January 1945 and featured a modified bombardier’s compartment – the Lotfekanzel II. The aircraft also received alternative designation Me 262 V11. The prototype first flew in February 1945 and by the end of March had completed 16 test sorties. The aircraft was lost on March 30, 1945 when it crashed during a forced landing attempt.

Well, it isn't that much more insane than the XP-72 Ultrabolt, which had to use three-point take-off and landing so that the propeller would not hit the ground...  ;D

Pretty sure I've seen one somewhere, with the engines moved to the top of the wings?
