Su-21G and snail shell, red Re: hybrid aircraft/animals and others

sometime ago, I made three small snail-shells with fuselages from WW1 aircraft,
visible above, higher up in this thread :
here is the jet age version, with a Sukhoi Su-21G :

:-* I love your model/animal, but tell me: how is it going back fully home? (if afraid or for sleeping or in dry weather) is there room enough? even with folding or rubber-like matter... Everything is possible, but please explain a little: help us to dream it alive... ;)

yes it can go back in : this is the most outside position, and the fuselage can bend and flexibly fit the inner room.

dream on  ;D

I can totally see this as an objet d'art on some big-wig's desk.

Sculpturally, the inter-play between the curved shell and straight, sharp Su 21 nose is very interesting and the difference in texture between the two highlights this nicely.

Yet another enjoyable, artistic wonder, eric!

Letov S-328 and dolphin, red Re: hybrid aircraft/animals and others
« Reply #430 on: December 29, 2015, 08:24:40 PM »

thanks !

If  I had big-wigs as customers, my stash would grow infinitely ;-) but it is not the case   ???

my imagination follows certain patterns, I sometimes do variants around a theme :
for example dolphins crossed with aircraft : I once used a Corsair, here is a Letov S-328 fuselage :

(the floats of which appeared recently in the primary seaplanes thread, and the wings are with a yellow bottle to come ... nothing gets lost, nearly)

I think it's neat how your latest has that big propeller to help those fins out.

Another nice one, ericr!

Would that make it a bottle nose dolphin?

I found this nice RWD-6 kit, cheap, and original :I hadnot heard before of that aircraft,
and here it is hybridized with a dolphin, and with a snail shell

I really like the Arado shark and the dolphin biplane. Seeing these imaginative creations finished in blue is just the icing on the cake!

Very pleasing to look at...relaxing actually.

Thank you for going where few have taken this hobby before, ericr!

I am just following my inspiration, and lobe it when you like it.

Sometimes my inspiration also comes from others like Tophe's book-planes :

 do you remeber this ?

sometime ago you had an idea which got into my mind : the Book-Airplane :

and I liked so much that I had to try it out : using an Airfix Ar196, and a Clairefontaine notebook, cut to the shape of the wings :

it could have been featured in a Tophe-inspired group build!   ;D

I thought it worthwhile to continue the exploration with another, high-wing example, using a Do-27 :

next one might be a delta  :)

here is the delta-winged Su-21G, in red :

Thanks! These are great improvements:
- (Do 27) lateral windows for in-flight reading (cruise flight is so boring...)
- (Delta Su-21) book planes in the supersonic jet age
So wonderful :-* Thanks again!

apparently I forgot to show you this when I did it, so here it comes :

an authentic "charentaise", the very traditional french slipper
(preferrably worn with a moustache and a basque hat)
