The last makes me think of a Spanish Civil War modelled on the Korean War with MiG-15s vs Sabres...

Those are very interesting and thank you for sharing them.

I keep thinking about Alt Spanish Civil War scenarios but some bone in my head tells me U.S. equipment is highly unlikely. I keep trying to get around this but so far no success.

Still, it's interesting to see these birds wearing the Republican colors so well.

Captured "Kondorubutai" J1N1 in spanish republic service :

Like all people know, the spanish civil war finished in January 1946 with the victory of the republican side. After the government of the spanish free fighters broke alliance with the russian red fascist Stalin, a wave of international brigadists joined the republic like the pilot of this aircraft, an americain volunteer, or the other crew member, a german from Bavaria. This aircraft, a captured "kondorubutai" (japanese condor legion) J1N1, now in service of the spanish republic, is ready to fight till the victory !

I keep thinking about Alt Spanish Civil War scenarios but some bone in my head tells me U.S. equipment is highly unlikely. I keep trying to get around this but so far no success.

Perhaps, though I could see various dummy corporations getting US equipment via underhanded means into Spain, say SBC Helldivers and Northrop 8As that the US "thought" were going to Bolivia or some-such. Then once the US enters WW2, the Spanish conflict could very easily blend into the wider conflagration and then it is surely but a case of the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Post-war(s) you could imagine a tempered, left-wing but not strictly communist republic to allow for the possibility of US equipment or fall firmly into the Soviet camp or become strictly non-aligned to allow the likes of Kurt Tank to go or Dewoitine to remain there. Mucho posibilidades!

In RW early 50', Franco offered participation in Korean war to President Eisenhover.

What if Spanish Republic remains in western block after winning SCW. Then Spain is involved in Korean War.

If Russia never sold Alaska, I could see aid flowing down the west coast of North America from there.  It would make for quite a war.  I wonder how Great Britain would react with their North American colonies directly affected?

Would depend a lot on what other events did & didn't happen between 1776 & 1936.

Did the British American colonies revolt? If they did, were they successful? If "no"; is the East coast still in British hands? If "yes"; what happened to the USA? Why has it not expanded?

Is Britain still an expansionist empire? If so, say goodbye the the Spanish territories in the NW Americas.

Did WW1 happen? If not, what other wars happened, instead?

What of the French Empire? What happened to their acquisition of/hold on the "Louisiana Territories"?

Are any other empires in a position to take advantage of the Spanish Civil War?

Do Soviet Russia or Nazi Germany exist? Will they ever?

So many questions! :o

I'm reading James Phillips 200 Lost Years series and this map looks very like the world described in his books :-)

Perhaps the French sold them to the Spanish instead of the USA or whoever holds the eastern seaboard of North America.  I could see the French not wanting to sell these territories to the British; lots of bad blood on both sides, there.

You wonder if the pace of technology would have been the same in this world with the different political arrays.
