Serval has a point. We need a good definition of just what is or isn't allowed in this build .
I may be old but I'm not dead ... yet anyway ... !!!    And NO I did not know Richard III !!!!!!

2 years ago, i moderated the '1946 GB over on whatifmodellers.
thought i would look up the rules i written at the time and found this.

Quote
2. models or profiles of any class (aircraft, armour, ships,...) are alowed, preferably equipment build and introduced between 1940 and 1950, beyond that is alowed as long as the fit in the '46 universe and are WHIF.

although i would change the 1940 to 1935, to allow modernised variants of earlier vehicles.

on the bench:
-various models

on the drawing board:
-various 1/72 TinTin aircraft
-1/72 Eurocopter Tiger (Belgian Army)
-various other 1/72 and 1/144 aircraft

When would this build start? I have to think what I have in the stash.

While not agreed yet, my current intention is to include anything that can fit between 1946 and 1952 as an extension of WWII. So another 6 years to connect with Korean War.

So: Luft'46? ... YES.

I have no intention of doing anything this sci-fi, but I'd personally be fine with anything 1945+ as long as it fits as an extension of the WWII conflict.  I do enjoy seeing the "Nazis on the Moon" type builds even if I don't do them myself.

We're still a small enough forum that I think our GBs would benefit from being broader rather than narrower.

Cheers,

Logan

Something about stacks of model kits that stimulates the mind and soothes the soul both at once.
Many possible kitbash combinations to consider in those stacks.  Which configuration to build using which kits - OMG GB time approaches !

I agree, the more the merrier.

my original concept for this was the "follow on" to the many paper projects from all over the world, that would take it into the 1950's and even the 1960's (thanks to the "pressure cooker of war" pushing tech) so its kind of fluid, I honesty had not thought of dates. Backdating a modern aircraft like a UAV  was also something I liked, Dieselpunk, and other nevr before seen stuff (I came up with a Japanese manned Kamikaze ICBM for example.)

So a B-36 is certainly within the realm of '46 a B-47 makes sense as well, but a B-52 is logical entry too.  :) or for Russia, TU-4, Tu-85 and finally Tu-95 --just examples.

But it could also be something as simple as a FW-190 with a Service Life Extension Program upgrade  ;) Im fact a B-50 would be a great example of an "upgraded" B-29

What about end date?

I suppose "it" should be built/drawn/written during that time?

An AA turret or captured markings are nice suggestions. I was also thinking of an M26 with Czech markings,or in 7th Cav markings circa 1951 as an invasion USA scenario. :)
