Hi all
This is a build I had going on over at the "other WIF" site but I thought I would share it here too
Its the all resin and PE Industria Mechanika "Dragonfly". Scaled at 1/32, it's not small but not to big either. Perfect size. The base is scratch built and has working landing lights. The wood on the Dragonfly are wood grain decals from Germany (I can't remember the brand sorry) and the wood on the base is cut up strips of balsa stained with Vallejo "European Dust" acrylic wash. The stone is a rubbery display mat by Tamiya glued on and cut to size.
So, enough words, here are the pics:

Wow! That is just awesome! Are the wings thin plastic sandwiched between PE?
-
Gorgeous and quite impressive!

Thanks fellas - glad you like it

Yep, it's laser cut clear plastic (like acetate) lightly glued between 2 separate PE pieces as you rightly stated. I was going to tint the plastic but in the end, I felt it didn't need it
-
Wow, that is absolutely too cool! 8)

I posted a link to this build in Michael Fichtenmayer's Industria Mechanika Builder group on
Facebook.
Michael sez:
"Tell him I said that he did a fantastic job on that. Love the BMF/Wood and that base is spectacular.
Too bad about the plug breaking for the lighting." :-\

Yaaaaas

Very nicely done. The base sets it off very well - though I think it needs a pilot figure to complete the scene.

I'll agree.
For some reason, this reminds me of the ornithopter from the original Dune novel.
-
Yes, I keep thinking it needs a figure or two but I can't paint figures for poo and I haven't found a suitable figure to go with the theme.

What about either of these:

the kits does come with a figure but its seated and not of use. I would buy that set except it would be a waste of money as I just would not do the amazing quality of the molding the justice they deserve

Looks great
