I was very interested to see in some of the F-35B pics you've posted Carl, that the pilots are using the weapons bay doors as strakes when they're landing to capture the bounced back blast. Wonder if that was designed in to do that from the beginning.

It very well could be since those, IIRC, are unique to the F-35B which does not have the same weapons bays as the other variants. I cannot say for certain, though, as I was not involved with that portion of the aircraft.
