With the sad news about Brian da Basher, can I propose a Spats Bash - The Brian Perri Memorial GB for 2021?

There will be something this year.  Stand by.

I'm going to check my stash for kits of the strangest aircraft I can find!

Good - doing your stash hunting now.   I have one BdB build figured out.

Excellent! And I've just uncovered an unbuilt project from the '30s with spats that would have had Brian dancing with glee  ;D

It’s not just building the model, it’s the whole backstory that could almost make you believe it if not for the few whacky things that just make one laugh at all the absurdity of it all

Brian gets top of his class in creative writing.   Basheresque back story - good terminology.

Do a mini version on one page briefing for my builds.   Though Brian is a master craftsman at back stories.

Here's a hoopy one,

build a kit, any kit, either from the box , whif or revive an old model then let your spouse/partner/significant other/soul buddy/BFF/close friend/folks next door/complete stranger in street, design/dictate the colour scheme.

Too radical?

I realise if you are going through a bad patch or your designer is in a mischievous mood you may be opening yourself up to a whole lota of hurt ! ( or a very unique challange)

how about we revisit some older GB idea's

-swords into plowshares
-scale-o-rama GB
-never retired GB
-46' GB
-Braillescale GB (build something in 1/144 or smaller)
-Tigermeet in the 40's

Good picks, like those.  Have concepts for -swords into plowshares  -never retired.  Like to see results of explicit -scale-o-rama GB.  Scale-o-rama can become a part of most kit-bashes anyway.

Kinda, yes. Scale-o-rama'd pixelbashing is great for feasibility studies, though.  Had some ideas for scale-o-ramas that sounded great in my head, but just didn't look right when put together on the computer.

Also... techically, putting a P-40 nose on a La-5 fuselage is kitbashing - be it plastic or pixel!  ;)

One that's been suggested before I am sure but what about a "Cold War Continues" GB?  Basically assume the Berlin Wall and everything else did not happen in 1989.  There was no Gorbachev and the USSR and the Warsaw Pact is still alive and strong today.

I really like this one. Plenty of sub-theme potential as well - eg: Soviet don't go in to Afghanistan; Gorby does get in but focuses on economic reforms instead; START I with an on-going Soviet Union results in an escalating NATO/WARPAC conventional weapons arms race, ...

A scenario that I'd wondered about was history playing out as it did but, somehow, die Wende does not occur. Instead, voters opt for a separate Neue Deutsche Demokratische Republik (NDDR) under the Christian Democrats headed by Lothar de Maizière. What happens to the erstwhile NVA in a genuinely democratic East Germany?
