34-35 years ago, I read an interview with the folk who ran EDO floats at the time.  They said the oddest request they had ever received was from a rich Saudi who wanted to put floats on a Yak-40.  You'd need streamlined mounting struts to pick up the main landing gear structural interfaces, but I could see using a set of XC-47C floats for that.  If nothing else, 'twould be a different sort of whif.

Nice 1/48 Mig-9 box art and has 1/72 potential.  One of those off the public's radar little known aircraft.
Don't believe ever saw combat.

I can't say exactly when I saw it, but I believe it was an early 1980's issue of Aviation Convention News; I didn't give any ideas, just pointed out what was already out there. ;)

I have a set of drawings for a floatplane Yak.40 from an old 80's L&K magazine, I recall John Lacey 'maverick' did a profile of same in Finnair markings too :)

If you look at a FMA IAe 33 Pulqui II you can see the Kurt Tank design influence there.

I wrote an article about the Ta-183 and it's connection to the Space Shuttle some years ago, the plan was to build a model of each of the aircraft I mentioned in it. The La-15 was one of them but the model I bought to build was a bit 'agricultural' . This kit would be much better.

Was it the Cooperativa 1/72 kit? In carbon-y black plastic? :

http://modelingmadness.com/review/korean/lacombela15preview.htm

I've been slowly working on that one for years; I also have the Prop & Jet resin kit, which is a beauty.
