What is that Buccaneer jock shooting at?  Why such a discharge so close to the carrier?  That kind of stunt could lead to a permanent desk job.

Got no extra info, but I suspect it was set up for the photo. It's possible that a telephoto lens is making it look closer than it really is.

are those air brakes?.... Cool!

That twin-petal airbrake was standard on the BAe 146 and RJ85. The Neptune Aviation Services RJs were converted to airtanker config by Tronos on Prince Edward Island. Other RJ conversions are done by Conair (Abbotsford, BC), Air Spray (Edmonton, AB), and Minden Air (Minden, NV).

Great pic! Thanks!
Now I realize how small the 757 is. And I didn't think the 777 was that big!

The first 707 is an Omega tanker, ex RAAF machine unless I'm mistaken and the second one, near the terminal, appears to be in Airforce One livery.

Re the F-35 comments. Let me try my hand at some Foxtrot Alpha-style reasoning:

"Look at the energy state. The Super Hornet has to deflect leading and trailing edge flaps and still has to pull alpha just to maintain formation with the Brisfit, while the latter can maintain energy by flying with wings level. Clearly this means the Super Hornet is unable to dogfight.
Buying Super Hornets is obviously a waste of taxpayer money, especially when you consider that a Brisfit costs GBP 1,350, while a new Super Hornet costs USD 60 million. Maybe we should instead look into equipping Brisfits with Super Hornet sensors."

Am I doing this right?
Cheers,
Moritz

You forgot the following points:

  • Brisfit has tail gun with second crewman thus obviously can better defend itself
  • Brisfit can better use unprepared or rough field surfaces so is obviously more deployable
  • Brisfit makes greater use of composite materials such as wood or canvas thus is more repairable in the field, not to mention more sustainable
  • Brisfit is obviously more successful given it has over 5000 already produced vs the Super Hornet's measly 500 odd
  • More airforces have already selected and flown the Brisfit than theSuper Hornet (19 vs 2) so obviously the Brisfit is better
  • Brisfit was introduced into service a whopping 76yrs ahead of the Super Hornet so obviously it had better program management
  • Brisfit can easily turn in a tighter circle than the Super Hornet

Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum CEO, Dave Rohrer, who pilots the Lancaster, negotiated at the 8 Wing Trenton Quinte International Airshow to perform a photo flight with the 75th Anniversary Hawk. On the evening of June 23rd the CWHM’s B-25 Mitchell, flown by James Bradley, was used as a photoship to photograph Dave Rohrer flying the Lancaster with Maj Carl “Sleepy” Cottrell flying the Hawk. For 2016, the Lancaster bears two identities, on the starboard side it retains 419 Squadron markings VR-A while on the port side it wears the temporary markings of WL-O Lancaster KB895 of 434 Squadron.

It would be interesting to check but the Brisfit might also have a lower radar and IR signature not to mention noise so could be argued as being more stealthy...
