Thanks for the kind comments gents!
Now I'll have to seriously look into a paint scheme. Definitely darker than gull grey.

We have wings! Pics hopefully later today. I知 working on engine pylons next.
I've also cut a hole for the nose gear.
I have no idea what to do about a paint scheme or even time period. Could end up anything from post WW2 to the present. Any suggestions?

Here's a couple of pics.

At least the tail doesn't look so overly large now. Flaps were removed from the wings many years ago but will be used as intended.

So many options re markings and schemes.  Were you thinking any particular nation?

One that leaps out would be USMC obviously, though perhaps for something different, someone like Indonesia?

The A-10 seaplane looks better than I imagined. You could have it as a companion to the Seamaster!

US Marines might be a good idea. My idea behind the model was a conflict in the 80s or 90s descends into a South Pacific island hopping campaign. Kind of a repeat of the PBYs black cats attacking Japanese shipping during WW2. There was an interesting scheme on Marine Skyhawks that I値l look into.

Or flip that on its head? Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force markings for anti-shipping ops during a 1990s clash with the PRC over the Senkaku Islands?

Once I add the engines the A-10 look might come back a little.

Working with the fiddly bits right now. I知 going to place two or four Maverick missiles on top of the wings to keep them out of the spray. Need to find two more Maverick launch rails. Sidewinders and ECM pods out on the wing tips. Also some wing tip floats. Then landing gear doors all around.

And now we have engines!

The A-10 roots might be a little more apparent now. Big stuff is pretty much done so now on to all the little pieces!

Nope, A-10 parentage isn't, actually, obvious at all.

The more I see of her the more I like what I see! 8)

(Although I would have angled the engine pylons a bit; for personal aesthetic reasons which bear no relation to your build. ;))

It値l be something like that. I知 using the A-10 gear as much as possible.
Trying to make wing tip floats out of 1/48th mini gun pods. I wasn稚 using them for anything else.

Maybe just re-use but reverse the existing A-10 wing landing gear 'pods':
