Profile Requests
« on: February 02, 2013, 05:29:43 PM »
Hi folks,

If anyone has specific profile requests, please list them in this thread.  Please be considerate though.  There is no obligation upon any profile artist to do anything.  If they do fulfil a request, it is a favour.  Also try not to be too demanding - in other words, try to keep any requests to a workable minimum.  We don't want to overload people.

Kind regards,

Greg

Might as well be the first: for Jan's The Last War alternate history: a PLAAF Mirage F-1. The backstory is that after the Soviet hard-liners took over from Gorbachev (and the walls never came down in Eastern Europe), the West decides, reluctantly, to put Tianamen in the past and resume assistance to the PRC in modernizing its military. France is the first with selling Mirages....

A second one in this area would be a PLAAF AH-1T (the U.S. gets in on it eventually).

I can handle the Rafale request as I have a blank already drawn up for the two-seater.  Any specific squadron/paint scheme?  I'll get to it in the coming few weeks.

Hi Everyone!

Could someone do a line profile of this aircraft for me?
It's a Sreya, SA-6 Envoy.

Thanks!

I want to include some tri-motor Cutlass in one of my next Shipbucket graph-bash...... but the side drawing available to me is a bit messy due to the author's desire to show the engine arrangement.

Would someone like to tackle this and produce a side view that can be used both for doing profiles and as a template for Shipbucket-style icon?  A top view is included if it helps determining what goes where, as is a failed past attempt of mine.

Thanks in advance.

Forget about his bow and arrows- why wait until that sparrow has done his deed when I can just bury him right now 'cause I'm sick and tired of hearing why he wants to have his way with the cock robin!?

I wonder if this guy draws his own blanks:
http://www.topgunchen.com/page/album_detail.asp?album_id=874

The image in the page is reduced a little. His blank is in the background. Tracing it would be a bit of work...

Maybe also try contacting one of our members, Clave.  He has done profiles before of such (see below for example)

Wow, somehow I'd missed that Clave had done a Block 60 F-16.

... maybe I just don't pay much attention to F-16 blocks. Usually the long and short fin bases are difference enough for me...

I was thinking up a hypersonic aircraft idea and I'm wondering if anybody is willing to help out?

Sincerely,

How about you make a start yourself rather than constantly asking others to do the work for you.  This way, you do the work your self (which gives you the satisfaction of creating it), have a better idea of what you are thinking of  and get to practise.  The more you do the better one gets.  Others may then either offer input/advice or even help you with the drawing.

I have a few basic images which I have stored away on my computer.  I could do a crude drawing when I get around to it to illustrate what I'm looking for in basic terms

A crude drawing from AutoCAD exported to MS Paint for color was how I started.  Your first few profiles will be bad.  Mine certainly were!  You have to start somewhere, though!  Good luck and feel free to post on here if you have any questions!

I agree with Logan, below is my first profile. Take that first step, we all have our own artistic vision and where better to share it than here :)

A V-22 in US Forest Service airborne tanker markings, it could be a natural in between what conventional helicopters and do and the passes by faster moving large piston and turbine aircraft.

Logan, your drawing inspired me to make a twin-boom derivative... (made with Corel PhotoPaint6):

I'm happy to have provided inspiration. I revisited that design a little later and here's an example of one of those updated profiles. Keep in mind that this one is still over 8 years old.
