Two decades ago, I had a 1/72nd scale Osprey (since given to a child to build) and thought an inverted trash can would be a great notional skyscraper for a civilian commuter build.

My inspiration was rectangular and probably less than 18" high, but you can get the jist from this

I'm seeing this Metropolitan Building (from the Bachmann's Cityscenes series) as a potential host for a 1930's autogyro.

And this looks like someone kitbashed two-into-one, making a 15 story version. Note the roof adornments.

WHAT the metropolitan skyport of tomorrow may look like, as conceived by Nicholas DeSantis, New York commercial artist, is shown in the illustration below. His remarkable proposal, embodied in a model that he has completed after five years’ study of the project, calls for a 200-story building capped by an airplane field eight city blocks long and three blocks wide. A lower level of his “aerotrop-olis,” as he has named it, offers a port for lighter-than-air craft. Hangars for planes and airships occupy the top fifty floors.

That's a great post and I can understand the difficulty in finding the right home for it.
I split off the part regarding Russell Case's plane and attached it to that topic.
I'm going to move the rest under Aerospace as it seems mostly related to the autogyro diorama, but if you prefer it somewhere else, just let me know.

Whilst not Aircraft.
I did a resin 1/48 Bladerunner Spinner and scratchbuilt a base that sort of in the zone of the movie.
I used a cheap Photo frame with suitableish photos running as a slide show to to sort of set the scene
