Maverick has a fantastic Profile thread.
Amongst them is this particular bit of goodness

That got my "gotta build" juices going
It took a while to get an old Italeri Chaffee at the right price.. sheesh you would have thought that with the Bronco Chaffee on the market the market would have tanked on these.. apparently not.
So after an evening knocking the hull up OOB, I got onto the business end.
Now I could not decide which to build out of the Recce with Autocannon or the AA version with Sidewinders.. so I am going to do both.
So while I am waiting to get some 1/3x scale sidewinders I hit the plastic card to do the Recce version

Decided I had to have a commander as a Recce vehicle where the commander cannot see would appear a bit limited. So I added a cupola

Closer view on the autocannon mag and mounting stuff

Coming along really nicely. I like the idea of the raised commander's cupola. Serious skills there.

Sorry for the delay folks.. things happening like our Model Expo down here in Melbourne which burns modelling time.
So it is just about done.. save finding a crewy to go in the cupola.
My version of Mav's Recon Chaffee

The kit tracks are essence of crotch.. but gotta use what you have.
I found a cheapo Chaparral kit as well. so I reckon I will do the AA Version with Sidewinders as well for the same hull.. sort of mix and match
Cheers

Beautiful job as always, Brian. I love the gun, too.
We should have an M41 Group build!
-
Nice job!
Reminds me of the Dutch version of the FMC Lynx:

Looks cool, buzzbomb. It reminds me of one of those mid-80's upgrade that only made the prototype stage, that where always in Janes.
