That second one looks very much like this one from Patlabour 2:

Here's some fantastic "What If" profiles by Tomás Reyes on DeviantART. There's many different examples of each type on his page, all "What If".

Focke-Wulf Ta 152H

Yakovlev Yak-17

Republic F-91

Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21

Well, I left a comment on his page and was going to invite him if he responded, but hasn't been active on dA in the past couple of years, unfortunately.

By the way, be sure to look at his full gallery, all works, because he has a number of profiles that aren't categorized in his folders by type. I'll post the uncategorized ones below.

Interesting look with manned tail gun position.

I am certain that I have seen a photo of a He111 with Jumo 213 engines though.

The He 111 H-21 had Jumo 213E-1 engines with conventional radiators.

The annular radiator was a function of installation design rather than engine design.

Thanks Jon.  The one I was thinking of did actually have the annular radiators - I seem to recall it was a one-off trial.  Will keep looking for photo.

The He 111 V32 had annular radiators, but it was powered by DB 601Us. The V32 was a development airframe for the unbuilt He 111R series ... but, AFAIK, none of the 'Rs were to be Jumo 213-powered. The He 111R-1 was to have had Jumo 211Fs, the 'R-2 DB 603Us.

Apparently, there is a photo of the V32 in Luftfahrt International, May/June 1977. Others, from Heinz Nowarra, here:

Looks like they went to annular radaitors because the turbo-installation took up the space formerly
occupied by the regular radiators.

Top: Nostalgia! (Original HERE!)

Bottom: Found this by chance and found it to mesh kinda well with my "Frontier Army" idea in action (admittedly due in no small part to the use of what I take to be Challenger 2 rather than Abrams for MBT). (Original HERE!)

The top one was actually made by an old friend of mine when I used to frequent the Derelict Studios forums. Goodwin worked on some of their mods (like Blitzkrieg 2) and we've been friends on dA and messenger, etc. for years. Since they were mods of C&C Generals, most of us grew up on the old C&C games.

About the top one (and if someone wants to know): despite what some guy at comments at the DeviantArt page wrote, the picture does not represent Sarajevo in Bosnia. According to graffiti on two houses this is more likely other ex-Yugoslav republic, Slovenia. Inscription on the left "Mir skrozi moč" means "Peace through power", while the right one "Enotnost" means "Unity".
