Thanks guys! Just so you know, the decal sheet will be 48th and 72nd scales on the same sheet. It will be A4 in size and chock full of low-vis "What if?" markings. The markings will primarily be for the A-7E Corsair, A-4F Skyhawk and possibly F-8 Crusader depending on space. I'm currently trying to make it as modular as possible for the greatest level of individual design possibilities. You'll see what I mean with the next profile I upload which will give you a pretty good idea of what you'll be able to do with the sheet just for the Royal Navy examples alone, not to mention the other nations that are coming in profile form.
Keep in mind that whilst I have shown A-7, F-8 and A-4 profiles here, there's no reason why one couldn't use these markings on an F-35, F-16, F-15, F-14, A-6 etc. Your own imagination will be your limiting factor. But with the plethora of "What if?" creators around these days the sky's the limit.
I myself intend re-creating some of the HMS Hermes A-7E strike wing on a carrier diorama showing the variations in camouflage schemes and squadron markings used on these missions. Imagine four Hasegawa A-7E Corsairs with their wings folded displaying various weapon loadouts and in varying stages of weathering. The desert schemes in particular would have suffered badly under the conditions they operated under showing a lot of chipping revealing the colour underneath!
All I need is a shark mouth and nose art!
