Following successful test flights with the DH Swallow, the RAF opted for a flying wing/tailless design for their next all weather/night fighter. The result was the DH Vortex. Commonly called the "Pregnant Pig" by it's crews in reference to its less than stellar flying characteristics and the large belly tank. Although never a major success, the Vortex NF.3 flew with the RAF until replaced by the EE LIghtning.

Finished, though far from perfect-my compressor went a bit odd on me just after putting the base coat on the Vierbeiner, so every thing since has been hand painted. Anyway, here's the ZR-500* in the colors of the Moreauvian Air Defense Service.**

and the build thread, such as it is, here- http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?topic=978.0

* Zeppelin-Roland, formed in 1926. ( The Empire never collapsed because the Great War ended in 1915. )

** Originally Ille De Verde, one of the five islands of the Mysteres, in the mid-Atlantic north east of Bermuda. largely
uninhabited until the late 1800's, it became the site of the laboratory of the notorious Dr. Moreau; later an island
nation was formed by the survivors of his experiments.
