Getting closer-managed to get the workshop interior warm enough to do some painting.

I decided to add some crew-not sure where the pilot is from originally, but the observer/gunner is a modified French Poilu from the
old Matchbox Char B/FT-17 kit.

Some surface details and decals left to add, along with touching up the paint, but this went smoother than I expected it to...time to tackle that Vac Welkin I have some place in the stash.

Looking good! But it's still a very weird aeroplane! :-\

Is that a Danish 'Skeeter in the background? ???

Well, I am a very weird person, so... ;)

Danish? Nossir, that's an Aussie Mossie!  One of the four "Cape York Tse-tses" (FN Mk. XVIII). The color is an attempt at the overall dark green seen on some RAAF Beaufighters. I started the old Airfix kit as a (haha) 'quick build'
in between sanding and drying sessions on the Pterodactyl. It has been a tricky build...

That is a surprisingly large/beefy airplane! It looks about right for 1/32 not 1.72.

The colors look good!

Ah! I thought you were going for the Danish over-all green that they used to use.

It would be fascinating to see wind tunnel results on that gun position. Either way, the gunner is sheltered from most of the slipstream while still having a clear field of fire in the rear quadrant. Interesting arrangement.

Just about done. Still on the fence about adding a llllittle bit more bracing strutwork, and rigging, but this is pretty much done.

Looks great! I don't think it needs extra bracing or rigging. Maybe a couple of rigging lines per side, but I don't know where they would make sense.

I'm still taken aback by the size of this beast.
