Not my cup o' tea - although the Airfix kit in blister pack in my stash looks lovely - but a subject I bet will go down well with buyers around the world.

If that Bulldog doesn't come with Bofors Bantam ATGW boxes there'll be an opening there for some aftermarket resin.

Excellent news! Not sure if I'll ever get one - neat aircraft though - but that's very good news.

Anyone else imagining one in USN Dauntless clothes?

By that I assume you mean SBD-1 colours of aluminum lacquer fuselage and yellow wings,
as the overall grey, blue over grey, tri-tone cammo, Atlantic grey over white  and overall
GSB are boring.

Tarangus will release the first ever Saab B 17 in 1/48 scale:

That almost cries out to be converted to a floatplane.  I could just see a floatplane version sitting next to a Norwegian N-3PB.

Sorry guys, not plausible. Using Dizzyfugu photos doesn't make it any more real-er.  ;D

Actually that looks really good. I thought Evan was onto something before, now I know it.

Those pics have gotten me thinking, how about an SB2C Helldiver float plane with the same configuration?

Not bad but I love the look of the floats on the SAAB

You're right, it is much cleaner

I don't know if the one in the pic I found is real, it appears to be but who knows

I've got a kit of the Northrop N-3PB is the stash though, could be a good donor for a conversion

Use the floats from the N-3PB and then build the N-3 in the original landplane version with landing gear modeled after that of the Northrop Alpha or its siblings?

The XSB2C-2 was indeed real, it was the fifth SB2C-1 (s/n 00005) and was taken off the production line
to be converted to a floatplane, work was completed Sept. 1942 and USN tests started early in 1943.
Originally 350 were to be procured, but by the time tests were completed the USN was no longer
interested. However, it was the test-mount for the new free-moving twin .30 rear gun-mount that
became standardon the SB2C, replacing the powered twin-.50 mount
