I assume this isn't the same Atlantis that produced various toy soldier sets in the 1970s of obscure and now highly collectible subjects like the Pharaoh's throne room, the Colosseum and Wild West subjects, amongst others?  I think they were Italian in origin IIRC.

While they've been around for a few years they've recently become better known because of their purchase of
old Revell, Monogram, Aurora etc. moulds the "new" Revell didn't want, and they've been steadily rereleasing
the classics.
Per their Facebook announcement next up is the Aurora 1/72 AH-56 Cheyenne.

It is the east, and the 1/72 AH-56 Cheyenne is the sun.”

Some really interesting stuff there! Plus some great whiffing opportunities.
No decent hobby shop near me so mail order will be my route.

Myself, I'd love it if they had the tooling for the old Renwal Cessna YH-40.

I was reading up on the old Aurora molds and it appears they never got the shape of the canopy right. The Anigrand kit was no better in that department. Anyone know if a properly bulged out canopy is or was ever available? Otherwise carving a mold and vacuforming one is the only option if you want something approaching the correct shape. Not trying to be picky but the correct canopy shape is really obvious.

Do you know that they don’t? They’ve been keeping the details of what all they got
close to the vest.

@Jon - Comment based on prior correspondence with some drone/mindless minion at Revell that replied with the statement "No, the molds were damaged beyond repair" or something to that effect.  If Atlantis has the tooling, that would be an excellent reason to rejoice loudly while running naked through my back yard.

Both kits you linked to were originally sold under the Aurora brand name.  I never built the Aurora IS-III/JS-3 kit.

I did build the M46 Patton I kit when I was in the 6th grade (1965-1966) and I was a bit disappointed with the kit as it depicted an M48 Patton II on the box artwork but the kit contained within was an M46 Patton I.  In later releases this kit and many others in the Aurora product line included a vacu-formed terrain base to display your finished model.  It was a nice feature except the base was a bit on the flimsy side as it lost some of its integral strength during the vacu-forming process.  It was and still is a decent model of an M46 Patton I in 1:48th scale so get it if the price is right for you.

Built both as Aurora kits in 60s and 70s.

Remember terrain bases.   Decent quality low dollar kits.  Parts fit well.

The tracks on the Aurora 1/48th tanks were always one of their worst features,
I doubt the re-pops will be any better, unless they use one of the newer, better
flexible plastic formulas.

Seems like they'd be ideal for 28mm wargaming.

Thanks for the responses.

Gotta say I love Dragon's flexible "DragonStyrene" tracks; they take paint so-o much better than old vinyl tracks & they're so much easier to use than indy-link tracks with no significant loss of detail!

I am so, so very excited by this company. So many neat old kits I'd not be able to afford coming back to the market (not that I can afford any right now anyway!) like the Cheyenne and Allison turbine. And I'm a sucker for box-scale oddities when they're cheap. Great whif fodder!

Ah but is that what you plan to build it as?  I have often thought an Air Force one livery might work.

I was thinking of building it as a spacecraft. But if I were to build it as an airliner, I'd put it in Western Airlines (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Airlines) livery.

Correct me if I am wrong but I seem to remember that the original release of this kit included two SST models?  One SST with wings extended and the other SST with wings retracted?  I remember seeing an image of the built models on a display stand that accommodated both models.

I thought so, too. There were several models according to Scalemates. (https://www.scalemates.com/topics/topic.php?id=787). We're thinking of the Revell 1/200 version (https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-h-263-300-boeing-sst-supersonic-clipper--194077), which came with supersonic and subsonic versions (see instructions).

This is a re-release of the Monogram 1/400 SST. (https://www.scalemates.com/kits/monogram-pa211-boeing-sst--234358)

I suppose I should have been more proactive and checked the ScaleMates data base before asking the question.  So the smaller scale Boeing SST models were the subject of that old photograph.

I was not aware of the Monogram Boeing SST kit until I was today years old ()
