Two new ones in the works:

(https://scontent.fbne5-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/57261101_309185203109178_7260289021547380736_o.jpg?_nc_cat=111&_nc_ht=scontent.fbne5-1.fna&oh=efd48bce9e802b82f3cabaeb8552ed71&oe=5D398105)

Based on the CAD files I have seen, they look to be quite detailed.  I love the following artwork too:

(https://scontent.fbne5-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/57213808_309193096441722_6731848636428189696_o.jpg?_nc_cat=109&_nc_ht=scontent.fbne5-1.fna&oh=31c2b951db0bb93f115db65aba2e6c71&oe=5D3EBFEA)

And BTW, I also already have expensive resin versions of both in the stash so these are another pair you can thank me for...

Hmmm...I wonder.  Maybe one of these done up in a Minion scheme.  Maybe Stuart...

Phalanx and SeaRAM!  Wow!  Much excitement, stirring in my loins, and increased heart beat plus sweaty hands.  But what is the price going to be on those two gems?

The HobbyFan Phalanx kit was close to $200.00 when I last had one in my possession and that was resin plus photo-etch with all of the inherent faults of dealing with resin.  It was nice to look at in the box but very intimidating when you thought about all of that toxic resin dust plus the relentless sanding, more sanding, and more sanding to get rid of the damned resin pour plugs.  Injection moulded SeaRAM and Phalanx will be most welcome and I pity the guy that won my HF Phalanx at the Seattle IPMS auction.

Woh! :icon_surprised:

Does that mean they're bringing out a 1/35 Wasp-class LHD to put them on? :D

 ;)

One could probably use their 1/35 Russian T-80U MBT model kit as a basis for estimate.

Wasn’t there a plan to mount one on a tank hull?

I have a whiff plan to do just that.  Am planning to mount on a M1 Abrams hull and call it a Dalek.

All this CIWS stuff appearing overnight is just too creepy.
I spent a fair bit of time yesterday and the day before looking for a way to cobble together spares box stuff to create a 1/35 CIWS type system on the Stryker I have on the bench, before abandoning it for the moment.

Might be time to go bigger and mount on a MBT chassis once these puppies are around

Well, there was this real life proposal - General Electric's concept of the M247 Sergeant York for the DIVAD program involved a GAU-8 (same basic gun as the A-10 and Goalkeeper) in what was called the Air Defense Turret mounted on a M48 Patton main battle tank as per program requirements:

(https://assets.rebelmouse.io/eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiIsInR5cCI6IkpXVCJ9.eyJpbWFnZSI6Imh0dHBzOi8vYXNzZXRzLnJibC5tcy8xNzMxMTcxMC9vcmlnaW4uanBnIiwiZXhwaXJlc19hdCI6MTU5NDIzNjYyNn0.7Bj1mBSla9z563vkyU9lXjQYhgGyavrI71oT9korG-s/img.jpg?width=980)

My creation on the other hand will be either a Chieftain AS1 Air Defence Variant (ADV) "Echidna":

or a Challenger 2 derived "Echidna II":

What caliber would that be Greg, 50mm   :o

Really like either of them and both are suddenly immensely doable.
There is a pre-loved Challenger that may just be begging for this sooner rather than later

Anything would have been better than the Frankentank that was the SGT York DIVADS, it is quite literally a case study in how not to do systems engineering (or any other form of engineering for that matter).

Armorama with an update blurb on the Goalkeeper CIWS in 1/35, with additional images:

Would look good on an AFV or MBT chassis.

As per above:  Chieftain "Echidna" AS1 Air Defence Variant (ADV) or Challenger 2 "Echidna II" - see here (http://beyondthesprues.com/Forum/index.php?topic=3.0)

Why do I want to see the gun from this in an AGDS turret?
