The Insect Class was also an inspiration when I returned to kitbashing.

I'd based my model on a model. (https://i.imgur.com/bxuWp2D.jpg)

Meanwhile, someone else's model

What a great model . Which one had a single funnel ? Of is that an inspiration of your own .

I was tempted to do HMS Gnacket as there were plans at one point to combine Cricket and Gnat due to damage as a stretch Insect

That's quite nice and I especially like the contrast in color between the hull and the deck/superstructure.

Youse guys are too kind.

Not to steal the OP's thunder, just noodling out loud here. This was my first build/kitbash after a 15 year or more hiatus, using parts from the LINDBERG Blue Devil destroyer based very very loosely on the gunboats of the 1895-1925 period.

In retrospect I think it looks a bit anemic now. I've since given it away but if I had the opportunity, I'd give the superstructure a coat of cream/tan and maybe a very light brown wash on the decks (to suggest teak planking).
