C'mon, guys! Just one small step! :icon_alabanza: :icon_meditation: :icon_crap: Please?!
That "one small step" will see you looking for a larger residence to display the thing plus the other three you will keep in your stash.  Not to mention the disharmony that will be created when you bring all of the kits home.

For a 1/35 CH-53D/E? ??? ...... I can live with the consequences! :-*

Now that I've seen this I remember the light stick in the water bottle attached to the antenna bit. I just don't remember what it was for.....

You guys are going to send me broke

Hobby Lobby (in the US) is dumping TAMIYA M41 kits for @ $16 after their 40% discount.

Everything else you can kitbash.

@PFJN might be able to burn ya a resin Cadillac Gage style turret.

I already have two M41s in the stash.

A great many years ago when my son was little for Christmas I made him and his three cousins wooden airplanes. I turned the fuselages on a lathe and made wings from 3/4 stock. I didn't paint them because I was happy with the way the wood grain looked. Years later we tried painting my son's plane but it didn't turn out very well. So I've sanded it down and started a new paint job.

Right now it looks like it was built by John Deere. I may try a different color if I can find something a little more olive colored. This is what I'm going for.

I have actual stickers on order, not decal stickers but actual sticker stickers, for the national insignia. I'm thinking of doing the red markings to give it a little more dash. I really need to avoid Advanced Modelers Syndrome on this so I might be able to have it done in time for his birthday in a couple of weeks.

I managed to squirt some paint on this one tonight. The painting went fine except I knocked over the little bottle of thinner twice.
I painted the canopy frame black to match the inside.

Then some Testors light blue darkened with three drops of sea blue.

I bought some fresh silly putty so we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Hi,
Sorry for the slow progress : :P

Here is the main hull and superstructure with some paint and handling gear loosely shown in place.  The hull will be the medium blue and the handling gear the orangish yellow that is shown below.  The superstructure will evntually be white and the external decks to be some shade of olive or green.  The peach color that is shown right now in some spots is just a different shade of Mr. Surfacer that I wanted to try and and see how well other colors will cover it.

In th second picture you can see some of the small craft that I intnd to hang from the davits, including, a couple 40ft (or so) sailboats (in blue), a 20ft power boat (currently shown in the peach color primer), two 20ft sailboats (in red), a large power/excursion craft (in black with a reddish brown bottom), and two 6m rhibs (that I will probably just set on deck somewhere.

I'm very happy with how everything came out of my 3D printer, but I did have to patch a few small items on the prints, and its been tricky trying to paint everything because the parts are kind of small  :P

Anyway, I'm hopin to maybe paint the hull bottom red soon and add a black boot topping and then maybe paint the main decks green with white bitts and chocks etc.  The trickier part will be trying to finish up the superstructure because I haven't fully figured out yet the best way to try and add window and such.

Regards

Pat
