KSR-5..NATO DESIG...AS-6 "KINGFISH" IN 1/72 BY A-MODELS

hi,heres a few pics of this little baby, finished recently,

abit of history first

The AS-6 Kingfish as named by Nato,The Raduga KSR-5 was a long range ,liquid propelled,Air to surface cruise missile.Est max speed at mach 3.5 at 65,000 ft,and an est range of 300 nm,can carry a 1100 lb convential warhead or a equiv nuclear warhead. It uses a preprogrammed autoplilot for its launch and climb, then an inertial guidence system or autopilot with radio command and overide for its mid journey, then uses an active radar system for its terminal dive.

This is basically a smaller version of the kh-22  mainly intended to be carried by TU-16 bomber,s,Production of the anti-ship version began in 1966,with its active radar homing type.

The KSR-SP anti radar missile entered service in 1972,also at the same time, the KSR-5N VERSION WITH A NUCLEAR LOAD was also put in service, later a KSR-5-5NM was built as a airbourne target for training.

Modified badger c and badger d aircraft carry 2 of these missiles.

With the retirement of the Badger in 91,all the KSR-5 warstock were converted to airbourne targets.

enjoy,i did making it,there a nice little kit for a break from big stuff, and can be finished quick?....cheers Don

That's one sharp, clean build there jetboy! You really have a talent for rockets and missiles.

It's true that after finishing up a large, complex project that something small and simple is a nice change!

One powerfull carrier-killer!
Can I ask what the launcher is on the right of your photos?
Is it the launcher for the S-75 (SA-2 'Guidline') SAM??
