Been working on this for over 2 years now. I just couldn't decide how I wanted it look or what to portray. So, this is where I'm at,a at the moment. I just need t add one more figure and add some smaller details, before calling it quits.

it was shorter, but couldn't decide about the overall theme. I had other figures and placement of accessories, but removed them.

Very impressive! I love all the little details ... like the bent spokes on the abandoned bicycle wheel. I know its done but ya gotta wonder about the efficiency of flip-flops in combat  :-\

I agree with Apophenia.  As for the flip-flops, you wear what you have and they beat going barefoot in that environment.

Thanks. Nothing new wearing flip flops. You run with what you on. Seen many photos of flips wearing rebels in other countries.

Wow !    Like WOW !  The attention to detail is stunning and the figures are amazing.  I could never achieve anything close to this,  brilliant diorama

…Turtledove "Guns Of The South" diorama would be awesome as well though would "equalize" things with the Yankees having full-power AR-10s  :o

I think this diorama can be called finished. Although, I am still adding small details here and there still; and tuning the weathering on one or two of the figures. But here are some photos of diorama in its entirety since the last time I uploaded, under a different title. I have been struggling with it because of my figure painting skills over the two year period. I was never satisfied with the results, which always ended up being put aside until I could improve my skills. So here it is with another added, two figures. The theme is simple. Somewhere in Iraq, a group of insurgents are running towards a fight, to help their fellow comrades. Just has they run by the corner of the building, a freelance photographer is kneeling around the corner taking their photos, which in turn will be sold to the ‘TIMES’ magazine.

Indeed! I especially liked the detail of having a backup generator on the roof
