P6M Seamaster Whiffage
« on: March 23, 2013, 10:17:15 AM »
I have a Martin Seamaster kit coming my way, and I have already decided not to build it stock Navy.

My thinking is

1.) Coast Guard
2.) Private Airliner in Chalks Livery
3.) Swedish Anti Sub Patrol (like a p-3 Orion, but near supersonic)
4.) Israeli

Yeah, you heard me, Israeli. :)

Looks like I have some profiles to work on!

Must be Revell 1/136 Seamaster.   Is there another ?
Interesting you should mention.  After looking it over, just yesterday I put Revell kit back in stash.  As 1/72 it could be an attack jet or tanker with drogue out of tail.

Israeli in support of their SSG fleet?

JMSDF?

GTx,

Would that be RAAF or would the RAN operate them?

I'm thinking RAAF...Maritime Patrol/Strike...in similar scheme to RAAF Neptunes:

But you can make the Bastard work for it.

A 1/72nd attack jet would be interesting. You would have to replace the whole cockpit so I'm thinking a CF-101 or a TA-4 two seater canopy would look cool. Some self defence Sidewinders above the wings to keep them out of the spray.

I will probably build it as Swedish or coast guard.

But I will do chalks, Israel and Raaf in profile art.

I just think the dynamic of a seaplane flying over the desert is a cool idea and contradictory...of course Israel does have a coast and theres always the Red Sea.
