Fairchild A-10A Thunderbolt II "Greg Gates" - Area 88
« on: July 13, 2020, 08:13:40 PM »
Fairchild A-10A Thunderbolt, in the Area 88 manga, this is Greg Gates his second aircraft as his A-4E Skyhawk (to be built aswell at a later date) proved to be insufficiently effective when fighting the Land Carrier.

the kit is the Heller 1/144 A-10A Thunderbolt II, combined with homemade decals for the tail.

allthough its completed, i ran into a big problem at the end as the canopy got smudged when applying the matt coat.
im currently trying to fix it with Humbrol clear, in worst case, im gonna have to rebuild this one at another time.

on the bench:
-various models

on the drawing board:
-various 1/72 TinTin aircraft
-1/72 Eurocopter Tiger (Belgian Army)
-various other 1/72 and 1/144 aircraft

Well done
Aera 88 is a great Manga/Anime series, I've an F-8 put aside for Shin's bird
Sand off the mess from your canopy with 1200grade wet and dry, then use a nail buffer for the super fine grades, finish off with Brasso and then Future poilish to really bring up the gloss
