Mk. IV Tadpole Steampunkish - 1/72 - Finished!
« on: December 23, 2017, 05:38:26 AM »
Hi guys

I have to confess that I did not know what a tadpole was until a few days ago.
I knew what a "pole" was....and I knew what "tad" meant.
But instead of a small pole, or something of that sort, it ends up being the larval stage of a frog or toad.
Man, what a disappointment  ;D ;D ;D
On the bright side, and thanks to my ignorance, now I know what a pollywog is.
Fantastic nickname, by the way!

But enough of this chit-chat, and let's get down to business.

I had a Emhar 1/72 Mk IV Tadpole kit, and decided to give it a little steampunk twist,
inspired in the Indiana Jones Last Crusade movie.

Please find some photos below:

Yes, the base is the case of an old but stylish 3,5" HDD.

The tree is real, and the moss also. Everything else is fake  ;)

Thanks for watching....

...AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!!

Excellent!

Really like the addition of the turret to the MkIV.

The three exhaust pipes on the rear deck give it the look of gas turbine power :P

***edit to fix tank designation MkIV instead of MkVI.

Noice.

One smoke-stack and two intakes I take it, as there wouldn't be room for three boilers/fireboxes
and you'd need forced induction to supply enough air to the boiler firebox to keep up with the steam
demand.

I quite agree; it definitely fits that, especially in some of the early scenes showing the development of that society.

Beautiful finish - the brass highlights really set the whole thing off. I knew Emhar made a 'tadpole tail' in
1/35th, but not in 1/72. Good to know.

Very nice looking tank! I appreciate the fact that you created a logical looking vehicle with just enough embellishment to give it a definite Victorian Sci Fi/ Steampunk feel.
