Will it be cheaper than the Revell one though?   >:D
I think you already know the answer to that question Brian.

TBH, I was a bit surprised at Meng coming out with a model of the Pzh 2000.  Granted the Revell kit does not have a lot of the bells and whistles that Meng is offering but I have never read of or heard of anything negative regarding the Revell Pzh 2000.

With both of them having full interiors, I may have to buy one of each. ;)

I have yet to build any of my Meng kits but all the reviews I've read are very positive.

Is there something wrong with the AFV Club Centurion?  I know there are at least four or maybe it is six variations on the Centurion now available from AFV Club last time I checked.

As for the Chieftain it would be nice to see a new Chieftain kit to replace the older [forty years?] Tamiya kit.

The AFV Club Cent is pretty nice, but they have yet to maximize the moulds on other variants (ARV, AVRE, AVLB) etc. Pretty much have stuck to the gun tanks...which may be a savvy business model.

Must admit I completely forgot about the AFV Club Cents, have never seen them in a shop so they just didn't even come to mind.

As long as it's kits becoming available, not SCUDs raining down on you, that's cool.

it's been reported that Meng have cancelled their best-seller model - the  D9R armoured Cat bulldozer -- no more of this kit will be produced -- so if you see one, grab it !!  Seems Caterpillar are demanding royalties that make it un-economic to continue with this subject.  Happened before to other model companies in the past so I expect anything "Cat" will not be done in plastic in future - only di-cast models.

Wonder if Mirror Models' WW2 D7 tractor/dozer & Plus Model's just-announced (resin) WW2-ish road-grader will also be targeted by the scrooges at Caterpillar.

They should just rename it like Tamiya do to get around the "Jeep" name. Their Jeeps are "Patrol Vehicles".  This kind of money grabbing ownership stuff really pisses me off about companies. Now if I was to produce a Bulldozer and call the range .... hmmm .. D9, then yeah fair cop. But a model - really? It's not like the model companies are making really serious money off the kits with their brands on and I doubt they practise what they're complaining about either. It's a bit of friggin advertising for them too, free I might add.  Grrrrrrr.

The thing is, they are actually cutting their nose off, to spite their face.  Effectively, they are getting free advertising and by stopping that, they're only hurting themselves.

Where has that been reported? Can't find anything on it other than raafif's post here. Nothing "official" on Meng's website, Twitter or Facebook pages either.

Wasn't that long ago there was a discussion on one forum about the RAF doing that for any of their marking, the roundels especially.

And while chatting one time with the owner of Aircraft in Miniature, BOAC got after him because he was doing a BOAC 747 and they wanted a license fee (IIRC I was asking about some Concorde BOAC decals he had also done one time)

iHappened before to other model companies in the past so I expect anything "Cat" will not be done in plastic in future - only di-cast models.

Round2 recently re-released the old 1/25th AMT Cat dozer, so that makes that hypothesis questionable.

Frankly, I don't believe anything about production issues, licensing questions etc. unless it comes from the actual companies involved. Hobby board rumours are no different than the hobbyshop rumours of an
earlier age.
