When I was a kid I lusted after the OS2U Kingfisher model I would see at the local five and dime but for some reason never got one. Recently I found one so thiis will be my first floatplane >:D
So speed is life... especially when your job mostly consists of rapidly being somewhere else. As an observation craft you must be able to see and not be seen but if you are seen it's real convienient to have a mess of horsepower to get the heck out of the AO. Same deal if you go in to rescue personnel in the water.
So here is the mockup of the RoT observation/ search and rescue seaplane (have yet to come up with a name)

Two floats or one?  That is certainly a lot of implied power.  Maybe enough to give it near VTOL?  :)

Will be the same float setup as the Kingfisher. I central float with outriggers. It is my understanding that that is the optimal ocean setup being more stable in rough seas than twin floats. Power should be between 8 and 1200 horspower per engine depending on year model. The wings are from the Skyrocket and have a longer span than the 0S2U. Of course the craft is considerably heavier but takeoff should still be real short.

A trimotor Kingfisher is truly inspired, Toolman!

I really like the twin rudders and clipped wings!

Definitely built for speed!

Thanks all y'all. Apo I have not decided what manufacturer name will go on her. As you know many of the best AC designers went to work for Texas when the USA balked at entering the war ;) >:D

Thanks all y'all :-* That is a Lancaster turret. 1/72 actually. Due to the scalorama and the small size of the craft rear turret loadout will be a quad of small caliber machine guns.
