Didn't the Aussies have the Hawk.  If so it would have been a good choice for the RNZAF.  But for 'The Powers That Be' things would go a lot smoother in this world.

The RAAF had their first Hawks delivered in 2001 whereas the first RNZAF MB339s were delivered almost 10yrs earlier in April 1991.  That said, a Hawk (probably Hawk 60 or Hawk 100 variant) in this scheme (below) would look cool:

All hail the God of Frustration!!!

You can't outrun Death forever.
But you can make the Bastard work for it.

Thanks, T, but I'm going the Rafale route for the RAM & RAN. Great looking schemes, thought!

Love to see what you could do to a V-22.

We-ell, since you asked, V; ;)

I have a 1/35 AH-1W & UH-1N in the stash onto which I could transfer schemes plotted onto AH-1G & UH-1D plans.

I also have a 1/35 Mi-24D but I intend to do that in the OoB Czech Tiger Meet scheme. :))

Then there's a 1/35 AH/MH-6J in there, too.

I have a 1/72(?) AH-64 slated to be an Australian Army Air Service beast, as well.

Love to see what you could do to a V-22.

Got a 1/48 V-22, too. ;D

As long as it's a fairly late Italieri 1/48 MV-22B kit, it should be accurate (they have updated their tooling from the original EMD configuration, unlike everything but the Hasegawa kits in 1/72 - big tip off is whether they have that large "elephant ear" scoop for the oil cooler on the aft upper outboard portion of each engine nacelle).

If the parts inside match what's on the cover, it's accurate.  You can clearly see the "elephant ear" scoop on the nearer nacelle in the picture.

Just so you know, V, I've decided on the existing Australian Army Aviation Corps as the Aust. Army's air asset branch.

Maybe it would have been a better choice Aero L-39ZA Albatros  ;)

I can't remember if the Albatross was a part of selection process? Must ask my uncle time as he was part of the Bunty replacement program. I know he once said the Russians post cold war were trying to sell the MIG 29 and the SU-29/ 30 series jets to us among other things during the 90's so I won't be surprise if the L39 was in the mix. But he always said the problem with East Bloc aircraft was the after sale service and  the gap between services/ flying hrs wasn't flash either, but in saying that the Macchi wasn't much cop as well.

I will wait, the Gripen is still in its box as I'm working on a Taiwanese F-5E for the moment  ;)

No idea to suggest for country as I will work on a basis of a fictional universe (based on Strangereal from video game "Ace Combat" series) for all my coming what-if.
For "aggressors" schemes based on F-16, maybe you can look on the side of the NSAWC F-16N :
