Nakajima J1N Anti-Tank Turret Fighter

Blimey...a bit long-winded. In essence the build will result in a Japanese version of the Henschel 129 but with a rear twin-barbette for defense. The J1N is a gorgeous machine with massive whiff potential. Not many may know that the original prototype had a double set of remote turrets:

which later evolved into this abortion:

The turrets proved too cumbersome and the machine became a Navy Ki-46...later being fitted with a Schrage music instillation for nightfighting (somewhat successfully).

The build will be a whif somewhere between the twin turret and mammary turret designs.

A couple of update photos. Cut down the rear fuselage and replaced with plasticard (need to do some rescribing)...ps Halfords Rover Applejack is a damn close shade to Nakajima Interior Green:

Still got to cut and shape a shroud for the turret.

Quick note...no progress as I'm fighting a third phase of this virus. It won't die easily and neither will I!! I honestly believe it was wasn't for my training as a swimmer and free diver I'd be in deep doo-doo...there are points where you cannot get your breath and the cough rips every muscle in your ribcage. Still, more pleasant than watching "Friends" .
