Technically not a "What-If" this Hasegawa Aeronautica Macchi C.202 model with Eduard brass super detailing parts & True Details mainwing landing gear wheel sets is my last-ever build of their 1/72 scale kit, one I'd very much wanted to do of a 79° Squadriglia, 1° Stormo Folgore since 1964. The build was extraordinarily challenging arguably placing it in the "Near What-If" category insofar as beyond extra construction effort. The only misgiving building it was having to mount all landing flaps directly underneath the mainwings instead of cutting out space for them contrary to Eduard's recommendations, doing so would had damaged the plastic mainwing kit parts, same with cutting or filing down brass flap ribs for them to seat flush on the mainwings, no guarantees either they'd be properly aligned in doing so!
