Title: Futurist ideas
Post by: GTX_Admin on March 10, 2012, 04:39:29 AM
Hi folks,

I have started this topic as a place for some of the ideas of futurists (and similar) such as:

Jacque Fresco - The Venus Project (http://www.thevenusproject.com/) (especially check out the transport section)
Marshall Savage - The Millennial Project (http://tmp2.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page#zoom)

regards,

Greg

Fresco did some nice stuff but his 1950s / '60s styling hasn't kept up.  He later rejected all Space-Colonisation theories, realising that Earth is an organic "space-station".  (thus taking down his forums which had been swamped by Trekkie-geeks).
Unlike others, he hasn't yet realised that he needs to actually build a village that works (not make a movie) before his ideas take off.  Others have started.

Can you post some pics from that Millenial Project ?  My computer doesn't like the website.

For a Future-Village that is currently under construction see http://co-opvillagefoundation.org/ (http://co-opvillagefoundation.org/)
It's located near Pensacola, Florida & has over 500 workers / residents-in-waiting.  I've had some input into its design.

I live on an organic space-station in orbit around Sol.  Unfortunately it's being destroyed by a parasite called Western Society.

I travel through Time .... but only at the rate of one second / per second.
