What about a variant of the FV.432 given a cut down and launcher similar to the MIM-72 Chaparral and fitted with 4 x Red Top missiles?

Yes.. make it happen.
Originally, for the Centurion with Rapier build I did, I had thoughts of using the Takom Sea Dart as the missiles. Too expensive for that so the dodgied up Rapiers worked.
Doing a 1/35 Redtop might not be that hard.

Still on this family
I did have a go at doing the FV432 with Cymbelline Radar

My rendition using the Accurate Armour FV432, long before the Takom kit emerged.

Other ideas might be some air defence variants using either the Tigercat SAM in a mobile arrangement:

Or perhaps a gun based air defence variant roughly equivalent to the M163 VADS maybe using a Bofors 40mm gun?

Aardvark prototype a FV432-based min flail in the early 1990s.

This hydraulically-driven flail system was called RACE (Rapid Area Clearance Equipment). It came in two variants - RACE A and RACE C - but sources differ over which version was for APCs like the FV432. Beyond being hydraulically-driven, the FV432's RACE system was also articulated to fold in a more compact 'V' shape for transport.

I wonder about a drone carrier version perhaps with something like a couple of Westland Wisps:

I like it! I'm also intrigued by that second photo.

Like all the Westland WG.25 series, the WR 06 Wisp was meant to be 'low observable'. So, that shrouded rotor mast makes perfect sense. I'm thinking that, with that shroud, the Wisp would also a lot easier to model in 1/35.

By that 'A3' painted on the body - 'fuselage' just doesn't seem the right term for the WR 06 - I'm guessing this was the third Wisp prototype?

That gives ideas:  What about a Stug development of the FV.430 series very much in the original infantry support mould using a L118 light gun development

raafif: Those images are actually of the 5-ton FV421 Load Carrier - one of the fore-runners of the FV430 series. (The FV423 Command Vehicle was very similar but with a big, boxy shelter mounted on the bed.) The FV421 had more overhang than the FV430 series but, otherwise, was slightly smaller overall. The FV421 was almost 2 tons lighter but only had 66% of the FV430 series' power output.

Both pictures are featured in The FC 432 Series by Chris Foss (page 6). Your first image shows a derelict FV421 cargo carrier dumped on the range at Lulworth. The second image show an FV421 with ammunition resupply racks fitted.

One could probably cut it down a bit too...or use the M113 "Stug" as inspiration:

What scale is the one you are talking about?  I know of a 1/72 and a 1/48 one but I don't recall a 1/35 one
