Title: Ukranian Amphibious Tank
Post by: ysi_maniac on August 12, 2023, 03:29:25 PM
The Russo-Ukrainian war, after many years, has gradually become a static war, of trenches and attrition, in which neither party achieves significant progress, despite the great efforts made. For Russia, the war is economically very burdensome, it increasingly depends on the importation of arms and ammunition from lower quality sources. Ukraine depends on the generosity of NATO funds. Public opinion in NATO countries is increasingly reluctant to continue handing over weapons receiving nothing in return.

Given these circumstances, a group of speculative Ukrainian modellers, including some diplomats and military members, devised a plan to, since they have less and less access to good NATO arsenals, request access to NATO scrapyards, naturally at almost zero cost. Thus began operation KITBASH, whereby Ukraine began to build, in workshops far from the front, all kinds of weapons, albeit not very standardized, very useful and cheap weapons; combining elements of WWII, the Warsaw Pact (Ukraine contributes its own scrapyards), NATO, Israel also joined the effort... There were rumors that Russia is doing the same with its own scrapyards in the operation PSR.

The model presented here is an amphibious tank designed to provide the marines with adequate artillery support from the first moments of disembarkation, even before landing. In this case, it was prepared to try reconquest of Crimea from the sea. No numerals are used to avoid traceability and the flag was harshly painted by the units at the front.

An early BTR? Looks good! I'm not sure the DUKW could hold up a heavy turret like that, though.

^^^^^
Exactly

... and the gun barrel comes from the Merkava by LEE 1/72, which results a bit undersized. So, I would say the gun is about 100-105mm low recoil.

A larger version of the Cockerill low pressure 90mm gun? I love the rounded rear of the turret.
