Decades later... [1/35th scale interpretation of a NEW YORKER Magazine cover]
(1/1)
Story:
More of a multi-media study than a simple Land build.

Story:
I've been a fan of the gentle watercolors on post-war NEW YORKER covers and thought this was subtly poignant. Anyone else get that vibe?
Plus I had a built Nebelwerfer in a box of salvage that needed a purpose,
I relaxed my brain to do something "inspired by" instead of a line-for-line copy of the original artwork, and to fast forward four or five decades past that cover art date. Since it appears to be in a Simpsons-esque SPRINGFIELD, Any State so too the memorial could be morphed.
First task was to assess available assets; Nebelwerfer with loaded tubes, wooden base and plinth, plastic Graveyard cross and gate section of Gothic iron gate.
Skulls on the fence had to go, too post-Apocalyptic. I'll recycle those in some other project, as they're close-nuff for 35th scale.
This thing was left loaded but luckily, the rocket ends were easily removed with a twist with a Leatherman's needle nose pliers.
Story:
For layout, the cross faces the iron fence's gate. Notice any differences between these two pics?
Buzzbomb:
I do like where this is going, working through the viewer orientation of objects is a good diorama practice.
Miniart do some nice fence options, if perhaps not too gothic.
