Just keep it civil & polite(-ish).

Sized some main parts together as scaleorama 1/700 escort for Mega-carrier.  Less complex (most any build would be) than Mega-carrier.  Buildable within time window.

After devoting much time to dispute with local Transit Nazis and paint demons, Mega-carrier is back to making progress.

This GB, for me, is slightly important because it will be the first time I'll have worked on anything in my new Modelling Room!

Here's a photo from this evening (excuse the mess, I haven't really finished the detailed parts of packing it to the gills, yet):

The rack is a Tamiya one from a model shop that was upgrading its display, gratis!

The table cost ... $85, I think? ...  off Gumtree.

Hopefully I can finish these two kits in time ...

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

Here are a few images to inspire (I hope) some more entries:

Don't forget floating cities, seaplanes, etc., too!

I've been thinking about this project for quite a while, got all the parts I need. It will depend if I can get my A310/A400 finished in time. I'm thinking of using a set of my -30 fuselage plugs in it too, and make it amphibious.

We've got rain at the moment, and for most of the weekend so the forecast says. I can make good in-roads on the A310/A400 because the rain stops what needs to be done outside. It would be good to get the C-130 floatplane going though --- maybe I'll set a place holder in the thread ---

Unforgettable inspiration.  Thinking 1/700.

Start by checking plastic ware for kitchen and for home cleaning.  Motor oil drain pans.  Craft stores could have useful items.  Bow from 1/200-400 ship.

Be slow.  20 kts an accomplishment.  Nuclear power for good range and speed.

Obviously IJN.  Could build with German, Royal Navy, USN features.   Turrets, superstructures and such....

 ;D ;D ;D ;D
I crack up every time I see those ridiculous renders of the Ming "treasure ships".  ;D

The proportions, and shape, are absurd and ignore everything known about actual large junks.

A Pechili trader would be a better starting point for envisioning the possible appearance of a
"treasure ship".

Note that they were turret built meaning that the hull was wider than the superstructure:
