Of course, one could use something such as an AT-42 or AT-45 as the basis for a T-34 APC:

Trainload of vintage T-34 tanks wows Russians

A train carrying 30 vintage T-34 Soviet tanks has arrived near Moscow after an epic journey that took the tanks by sea and by rail from South-East Asia.

Russian families braved freezing temperatures to greet the unusual cargo when it arrived in Naro-Fominsk, 80km (50 miles) from the capital.

Russian media say Laos, an old Soviet ally, gave the tanks as a gift.

Other comments indicate these are not WWII builds but rather from Czechoslovakia from the 1950s.

Random idea:  The T-34 can trace its heritage back to the BT series of fast tanks.  One of the intermediary steps was the A-20.  This, lhad an 8×6-wheel convertible drive similar to the BT tank's 8×2, which allowed it to run on wheels without tracks.

Above:  BT-2 tank rigged for road movement without tracks.

Above from left: BT-7, A-20 fast tank prototype, T-34 Model 1940, T-34 Model 1941.

eventually this feature was dropped before we got to the T-34.  But what if it hadn't and thus we had T-34s also able to run on just wheels rather than tracks?

Per google, "No other sizes of this image found".

It looks to me like an early T-34 ARV with the 14.5mm on the back deck where the cargo/parts/tools box usually sits.

I'm wondering if it's actually a Su-100 with the lash up gun on the back deck.  From the angle shown it might look like a T-34:

It also looks like a ZPU-1 on the rear:

Both would have been potentially available in Lebanon in 1982 too.  As for kits, there's a few Su-100s around in 1/35 along with ZPU-1s.

It's hard to tell from the picture - it's from an angle where both the Su-100 and T-34 are all but identical - but it looks like the Su-100 casement.

Russian World War 2 T-34 tanks still fighting in Yemen war

The T-34/85 still seems to have a useful punch as a direct-fire support platform in such conflicts. Does anyone know what the HE content was for the Soviet 85 mm tank gun?

For close-support, the most promising round would seem to be the Soviet UO-365K with the thick-bodied O-365K fragmentation projectile. There's also a UO-365/O-365 combo which, as far as I can tell, differs only in fuse type.

Post-war T-34 fitted with a launching rail for the Izdeliye 10 missile (copy of the German V-1). This is a great set of photos showing what would be needed to launch a V-1 missile from a tank. In contrast to what you normally see with V-1's mounted on the Flak 41 ;D

From Tank Encyclopedia:

Quote
There were some T-34 tanks that were modified to take a T-62 turret circa 1980 (believed to be in Bulgaria). They had the turret rings and hulls modified to fit the larger turret, and were used as bunkers near the Turkish/Greek borders. Despite reports that they could reportedly still drive, it seems to be the case that they were just immobile bunkers. They also reportedly remained in service at least 1996.

That said, here's what it may look like if done as an actual tank:

Just messing around with a concept for YSI's benefit - Tamiya hull, Monogram turret.

Shows how you'd probably need a spacer 'box' between the hull and turret so the turret overhang would clear the engine cover hump.

The 2S3 Akatsiya uses a modified tracked chassis of the Krug (SA-4 Ganef) surface-to-air missile system.
The 2S19 Msta-S uses a hull that looks like a T72, but has thinner armor.
The junk pile you're looking at could easily be mistaken for a T72 wreck.

Now I understand the "Damaged tank" caption.  Our newspaper cropped the photo and I just saw the totalled recon vehicle.

ZIPRA T-34/85 captured by the Rhodesians. Original caption claimed 1970, I think this might actually be later than that.

Chinese with 12 TPO 50 flamethrowers, although half a dozen water cooled Maxims could also work.

Just came across this Cuban T-34 equipped with a 100mm KS-19 anti-aircraft gun. Now I'm off to find some T-34 & KS-19 model kits :P

T-34 is easy but for the KS-19 you really only have two options:

In 1/35:

1/72:

Yeah I've had the Trumpeter KS-19 on my wish list for a few years now with the idea of possibly kit bashing it with an Is-4 or Is-7 in the future. Finding out the Cuban's made a real life kit bash tho has inspired me to finally get one. Just mulling over which one of the many T-34 kits to get with it now...

I have long planned to do something similar with a T-34 and a 1/35 Choroszy Soviet Model 1939 85mm Anti Aircraft Gun in the stash.

Not quite - mine will be more of a lash up field job.  It will also probably look closer to a Russian equivalent of the Panzer Selbstfahrlafette IV Ausf. C / Grille 10 / 8.8cm Flak 37 auf Sonderfahrgestell (and thus probably closer to that Cuban one in appearance):

One I came across while looking up the U-20:  The SU-2-122, ordered in December of 1942. This was based on the T-34 chassis and was meant to provide indirect fire with 122 mm shells using two M-30 howitzers capable of firing simultaneously. The mass of the tank was 35 tons, and resulted in having to lengthen the T-34 hull by one road wheel, bringing to total up to six. The project was cancelled before being built.

I've looked at that blueprint several times over the years but never noticed the extra wheel until you mentioned it ;D A stretched T-34 could be useful for all sorts of whifiry tho...

Apparently you can use the Su-2-122 in World of Tanks, you can view the 3D model for it here

The U-22 (aka the T-34/122), was a proposal from spring 1942 to fit the T-34 tank with a new turret equipped with a U-11 122mm howitzer. Only two crew members could fit inside the turret which was deemed not enough to operate the gun effectively, the project was canceled in favor of the SU-122.

Factory #183 proposal

Factory #8 proposal

Unimodel make 1/72 scale kits of both versions.

Adam Wilder released a 1/35 resin conversion of the #8 version, long out of production tho so good luck finding one.

I'm trying to figure out if it's concrete or camouflage ... :-\

Either way, it looks like a (barely) mobile bunker! ;)

It was from 1943 and was an attempt to develop protection from new types of enemy shells, including HEAT.  You can see more details and photos here:

So, it was concrete (top) & sand-filled steel (lower two) &, for all intents & purposes, I was right. ;) ;D ;D

Interesting. In a way, Tsyganov's second approach - sand-plus-resin encased in steel boxes - is the Grandad applique armour to more modern MEXAS and AMAP add-ons.
