It's really nice to see a scale HiLux in styrene that's for sure and the option of two is better.

Got the one with the ZPU-1 in the back. It looks very nice indeed. Sure hope they'll continue that line. Would love to see a 40 series and a 70 series Land Cruiser, for instance.

Oh, and someone has to do a ragtag band (sungigs, flipflops, football shirts, the lot) of Somalis as a crew.  :D
Cheers,
Moritz

Model build and review of the Meng Model 1/35th scale Vs.Kfz.617 Minesweeper (kit number SS001) by Michael Benolkin at CyberModeler

Interesting vehicle and certainly very "tank-like" even with what are passing for wheels in this case.

The "Civvie" version works great for any variety of post-apocalyptic scenarios, from nuclear war to zombie plague. Or traffic jams...

The MSRP of ~$80.00 sort of takes the fun out of imagining anything with that kit :(

Great googly moogly! I never even thought to look at the sticker price...egads!

Never mind, I'll go back to the Snap together Revellogram kits in 1/32, I'm pretty sure I can still source those for a tad less.

Work in progress ::

I am giving up listing them. They all end up on the shelf of procrastination anyways.

Great to see the Mansyu in injection instead of resin and in the 'true' scale.  :P

Bah!  Wrong scale! :(

Well we wee scaler's cannot get the cool Trumpeter Me 509.

You know what, there should be a law that all WHIF models must be available in both 1/72 and 1/48.

The Tortoise is a surprise to be sure.  Great to see a company going out on a limb with a 35th scale project that isn't a paper panzer for a change.

Martin Kovac has posted some images of his Meng Model 1/35th scale Vs.Kfz.617 Minesweeper (kit number SS001) at Missing-Lynx forums.

This is such an odd looking vehicle that looks like it escaped from some science fiction film and not an actual design from WW2.

I agree 100%.  It could also be a WW1 creation.  It always looks like it is going the wrong way to me though.  Would have been something to see in action.

BTW, the finishing on that model is incredible.  Photograph it the right way, and people would think it were real life rather than a model.

Here's hoping that Meng will consider producing some of the WW2 era US prototype tanks like the T20-22-23, T25, T14 and the T28/95 super heavy in 1/35 scale. The Tortoise gives me hope for some Allied whiffery to counter all the paper panzers we've seen in recent years.
