Had already tried my hand at this one some time ago, but I decided to rework it for the GB.

Beautiful rendition of that concept. I think I'd prefer using a Learjet wing with a constant-chord center section spliced in; the sweep isn't as radical. It could be modeled from a pair of Learstang kits and a F-82 kit.

As the original drawings don't show really much beside the general planform of the aircraft, I decided to take a look at my favourite ultimate P-51 racer (Miss Ashley II) and I placed the radiators right on top of the cowlings.
They should be more visible with the lightning in the pic below:

I would have put the radiators and oil coolers in the wing leading edges (oil coolers in the center section, radiators immediately outboard of each fuselage) with the exhaust air flowing over the top of the wing.

Not to hijack this thread but I've got a question for you Evan, it's well known that the radiator duct on a P-51/F-82 was very efficient, and depending what book you read, so was the leading edge radiator concept.
In your opinion, which one do you think is the best.
BTW, on my Twin Spitfire I went with leading edge radiators, only the engine coolant one is along the whole wing center section, with the oil cooler radiators out board the fuselages. I did it this way after I worked out the opening area of a standard Spitfire radiator and found I needed quite a long leading edge one.

Properly designed, they are both quite good. If you can tailor the inlet and adjust the outflow, the P-51's approach can give better efficiency because you actually get a net thrust greater than the drag. With the leading edge radiators, done right, you get extra lift above the wing behind the radiator (assuming a smooth outflow above the wing) and no extra cross-sectional drag for the radiators.
If I was going to do, say, a Ki-64-II with radiators instead of evaporative cooling, I'd use leading edge radiators for the front engine and its oil cooler and a P-51-style installation for the aft engine cooling. I'd probably also use experience from the twinned version of the engine to make a combining gearbox that would allow one multi-blade prop rather than contra-props with the aft prop fixed pitch as on the Ki-64.
