This is the build that provided the turret that eventually ended up on my steam Landcrawler. This was the second model I built after a very long break from the hobby and I couldn't resist doing something a bit different. The StuG conversion is probably the kindest thing that can be done to the DML E100 and of course, as it's a Paper Panzer I thought that the controversial APG Jagdpanther camouflage would be a appropriate.

Nice work! :)

Another real beauty. :)

Does the kit include the smaller 30mm AA gun mount/turret ? I like that feature a lot and would love to see if it would fit on top of an M113 :)

It does and it's a real nice MK108 installation, the barrel was made up of separate brass parts for the flash suppressor (muzzle brake?) and a load of tiny resin parts for the traverse and elevation gear. Looks like Trumpeter replaced this unique feature with a fairly dull cupola on their copy of this conversion. However, IIRC the Trumpeter E25 has a similar turret as an option and I reckon it would fit on an M113.
Oh and cheers guys, I learned a lot from this build as I had never worked with resin before, which I regard as being nearly as evil as photoetched tool clamps (used them on it too). I'll see if I have any WIP photos lurking anywhere and post them up as well.

Good spot Jeff - me thinks I need to get one of those...

Gorgeous build! :)
... it's a real nice MK108 installation ...
Actually, that's the long-barrelled 3.0 cm Flak 103 ... better known from the Flak 103/38 mélange, an MK 103 aircraft gun on the Flak 38 mount (aka Hotchkiss 25mm CA mle 1938).

Good spot :)
My excuse is that it's a gun from a wingy thing ;D

*Off topic...slightly* The Germans did have a plan to fit MK 108 cannon to tanks as a Air Defence Weapon. The following Diagram shows the proposed arrangements:

I actually included one on this proposed improved '46/'47 Panther:

*Now back to your regular programming*
