Unfinished idea:



105mm tank gun in turret and 165mm demolition gun in the hull.  Maybe I'd want to modify the demolition gun position so that its barrel doesn't protrude beyond the forward edge of the tank's bow......

I actually used to think of a "second-generation" Baneblade that is armed with a Vanquisher cannon in turret and Griffin mortar in place of the demolisher cannon...... I wonder how I could translate that combo in terms of real-life Soviet/Eastern-Bloc weapons.

It probably qualifies as a super heavy or even just a heavy only by early WWII standard in terms of weight...... but it is in the same multi-gun vein as Baneblade- Imperial Heavy Tank in Valkyria Chronicles, with a HV 76.2mm gun in turret and 122mm mortar in hull.

How about an E-100 or Maus armed with the 38.0cm Rocket Launcher that was originally mounted on the SturmPanzer Tiger?  You get the benefit of a larger vehicle with a rotating turret.  Might be ideal for a defensive weapon/mobile bunker on tracks and with the short range of the 38.0cm rocket it would not be good for much else. 

The parts for such a project currently reside in a box destined for The Zod (Chad).  Since he has a Maus in the stash that can be converted to this concept.  Or was it an E-100 in his stash?  Either vehicle will work for this project.

Okay, so when is someone going to do some of Keith Laumer's Bolo tanks or the various large armored fighting vehicles from John Ringo's Posleen universe (either "Bun-Bun" and it's sibs or the various German tanks from Watch on Rhein by Ringo and Kratman).

When I read the Ringo novels I'd thought about doing "Bun Bun" but at the time didn't have what I needed. Now I'd have to reread the story to get a proper description and still probably don't have what i would need but it is something that would be fun to build.

I once looked at doing Bun Bun in 1/35, purely as an exercise.  I picked that scale because M-1 Abrams are fairly common in that scale (I didn't know armor came in 1/72 back then).  The resulting vehicle was going to be approximately as large as an end table I owned at the time.  My then wife told me there was no way in hell I was building such a thing, unless I intended it to be used as a table.  Another project down the tubes because it conflicted with reality.

Landkreuzer to tanks is like B-36 is to WW2 bombers.  See them operating on matrix of coastal roads with occasional hiding bunkers.  Ready to do battle with enemy ships.

I recognize the gun turret from the Aliens movie wheeled armored personnel carrier and what I suspect is the 1/72nd scale Maus but most of the other parts are unknown or unrecognized.

Yes, I have been told that about my camo patterns - what can I say, I do them properly!

The rest of the bits are drop tank halves for the flank armour, Revell Star Destroyer gun turrets, and various odds 'n bits for scanners / antennae, etc.  The 'dozer blade is from a Kyosho R/C tank, as some Bolo's are fitted with these, for instant obstacle clearance - they can be discarded via explosive bolts.
