A little bit different Spitfire.
My friend and comrade Ujik ask me yesterday evening for this scheme.  If is possible to give Colours from Mustang to Spitfire....
Some hour of work and picture was ready....
Ujik built this from Academy kit...just now is model in "all metall look"

Wonderful profile.

The USAAC never flew enough Spitfire Marks nor flew them in NMF. I intend to fix that mistake.  :)

Do you take requests?

The red tail gives the Spitfire a very special look.  Very nice!

My bad. I should have typed USAAF.  :(

Anyways I have plan (which really is a way to use up all my duplicate Spitfire kits and others) to have the USAAC become a separate and dedicated air force for the US Army. Something about the USAAF not wanting to share their toys.  ;D

Oh, Pooh, that's quite a plausable colour scheme for a captured states-side evaluation plane 8)

Hello comrade tank commander Panther,

Are you still amongst the living?  We haven't seen anything from you in quite awhile old man.  You've probably built enough kits by now to stock an entire plastic air force!  ;)  Give us and update or, better yet, send us a new round of your great profiles!  :D

Regards.

Just a thought for a simple whif, an Avia B-534, Series IV with the more streamlined landing gear of the B-634.

It's good to see your work here again and it's as beautiful as ever.  Got any schemes for Macchi MC.205's?  I've found a conversion for a MC-205M with a Merlin installed.

Hello Panther,

Congrats on the new addition to the family  :)  Liked your new run of profiles, could you please make some Israeli Vampires?  Bye-the-bye how is it coming with a possible B-17 and/or FW 200 profile(s)?  Any possibility of seeing either in the not too distant future?  :D

Best regards,

CPT Mike

MiG-19S in USAF

Its important, that not so much is known about use of MiG-19 in USAF.

But go to the beginning.

"Cuban era" of MiG-19 was not so much significant and long. MiGs operated on "Island of Freedom" from November 1961 to the 1965 in strenght of only 12 planes. There should by more of them, but transport of next dozen of them failed.
MiGs were send via ships from UdSSR in crates and marked like agricultural tractors and sewing machines.
This camouflage will be not revealed, if there was hurricane Flora in autumn 1963.
Ship with transported MiGs was driven to the coast of Florida. CIA knew about the shipment and used this chance to take intact soviet planes.
The ship was "fake-sunked" and cargo was unloaded in United States.

All planes were assembled and two of them was hardly tested by USAF.
Remaning ten MiGs were assigned YF-112 and determined to well-known 332. FG "Red Tails".
There they were used in "Special enemy flight" and used like Aggressor flight for development of fighting procedures against them.
Eight planes with numbers 001 to 008 were used in flights, two remaining were destined for spare parts supplying.

P.S. scheme is "custom work" for comrade Randalf and story was made by him.... "poor translating" is my own work. Please excuse me for my bad english ... ;)
